I got taken off the waitlist and accepted to Western/King's 2 year program today. I already accepted Dalhousie so I will be declining my spot.

I got wait listed at U of T at 6:21pm EST. My last name starts with K. My heart goes out to all of you who haven't heard yet - it's been a stressful time!
I also got wait listed at Western and Carleton, rejected from Victoria, and accepted to Dalhousie.

Congrats on the acceptance to Dal! That’s a huge accomplishment, are you going to take it?

Just to paint a picture of what’s happening (also to feel less alone haha) could everyone who hasn’t heard from U of T yet like this post?

I did this to improve my overall GPA. I did my undergraduate degree at Western and the only way I was able to take courses and for it to count towards the GPA of my undergrad degree was to do it at Western (I tried to transfer to U of T since I live in Toronto and they said you can't do that). I was able to register as a "Special Student" and take courses. I took three half-year courses and although I got very high marks, it only slightly improved my GPA. I don't mean to sound discouraging if you are looking to improve your overall GPA, rather than just in specific courses - this is just my experience. The universities that I was applying to at the time recommended that I do another degree if I wanted to significantly improve my GPA, which I did not end up doing.

I completely agree. Let’s hold space for people to feel their feelings. It is valid to be upset right now. This is hard

I think all of our frustrations and emotions are valid right now considering the unexpected changes in timelines for results compared to last year. We should keep this a safe space to vent for people who need it.

I totally understand the anxiety and impatience, but blaming the staff for not working overtime isn't fair. For all we know, they already are. We should all know, understand, and respect the importance of having boundaries between home and work-- not to mention the ways that staff in academic settings are already often overworked and underpaid. They're people going through a pandemic, too.

Yes, because they say all decisions will be out mid April every year, and usually first decisions come out mid-late March. This seems to be the latest they've ever sent out the first decisions by about a week. I think it is very reasonable that people are wondering about this.

Sure, but every year it's been before April, a lot of people had high hopes to hear by now based on the timeline from previous years. The anxiety of waiting to hear is pretty valid.

Yes same here. I feel physically sick waiting all day. It is crazy making. Who here is waiting on U of T? (Show with a like)

The wait is killing me.
I'm Canadian but I live in Australia, so I'll take the night shift

Yes you can. I'm not sure if UWindsor asks for a deposit, but you may have to pay to secure your spot. I know that's the case with Dalhousie. So if you don't mind losing your deposit, then go for it!
