  1. Good profile! For Scripps and UC Davis, you are good. UCSB I guess moderate. UCSF is kinda ambitious. But, it all depends on various other factors. You can apply to Weill Cornell, actually.

  5. Any Biological / Biomedical 2022 applicants here? Looking to connect
  6. Well, Nope. For many reasons. A 1000 word limit is an approximation of 1.5 pages SOP with Times New Roman 12 pt font. An excess of 30 words will have a negligible change in the size of the content. Admission committee / PI looking at your SOP will be keen on getting to know you, rather than your word limit. Many universities vaguely say 1.5-2 pages or even no word limit for SOPs. To arrive at a decision whether to accept or reject an applicant, many factors play a significant role, and a 30 word excess MOST PROBABLY WON'T!
  7. Hello! I just got done with fall applications
  8. Hello! You might wanna say "During my graduate program, I would like to work with Dr. X who has been researching ABC. Under his/her guidance, I would like to explore blah blah (specific field)" This way of being specific with what you wanna research under his/her guidance will create an impression that you are focused and has done enough homework (hope you did!) to know about him/her and their research.
  9. Hi! Most universities require unofficial transcripts at the time of application. As long as the transcript is in English with courses and grades, grade scale, it should be fine, unless the university specifically asks you to upload a WES evaluated one. I submitted my applications recently and they said it is fine now to submit unofficial transcript for review by committee. When you get an admit offer, you might have to submit a WES-evaluated transcript.
