They said they'll be making the bulk of their decisions within the next 2-3 weeks. Good to know I waisted that application fee. -

Finances on the stipend?

roommate, cook and buy in bulk, bike when you can, set temperature to <65 in winter and 75< in summer, eat/drink out less than once a week, bagged lunches...you can live comfortably on less than 10,000 a year. -

bike-friendliness does matter. and the music scene of a place. and food. i guess the school itself factors in somewhere.

Penn State (not acceptance post)
user_name replied to perrykm2's topic in Literature, and Rhetoric and Composition
nope. looks like (from last year, though) denials have to wait until the end of march, just hanging on to the chance of being waitlisted -

got an email, wrote back, got a clearerish email saying a letter is coming. apparently no absolute ranking on the waitlist, so people in my field, don't go here. the program (what it offers) looks amazing, but i'm not too sure about it being only a year. -
what are the cheap, yet-to-be-gentrified areas that only somewhat sketchy? (by the railyard, preferred) what are food options like? how is the music scene?

Asking for decision deadline extension?
user_name replied to AnsuEmi's topic in Decisions, Decisions
i have two weeks to decide at one school because i was offered a scholarship, but i'm waitlisted at programs with better funding and/or better fit. should i tell the school that i'm waiting to hear back about other opportunities, or would that just make things sour if i went there? -
