  1. I just got this by email and thought I would share. Visiting lecturers change every year of course but it gives you a general idea. http://www.artandeducation.net/announcement/graduate-lecture-series-at-usc’s-roski-school-of-fine-arts/
  2. Do you think location matters in terms of being part of a community of artists somewhere? I don't think this necessarily means the city or place you get your MFA, but personally I wouldn't want to be isolated from other artists. good job being all done hopedreampaint! this is also my second time around.
  3. Thank you so much for all of these pictures & info, paintcutter! I've been to LA before, but a long time ago and never got to visit Roski. This is really helpful.
  4. Anyone else feel like they are uploading all their apps at the last moment? So far I've been getting each in a few days before the deadline. I'm so impressed by those who submitted them all in one block/really early!
  5. I know St Martin's has a post bacc program in London, but they do not call it that (I don't know what they call it, but I knew someone there who thought very highly of the program). I was at MICA last year and loved it! Also feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

    How old are you?

    23. i'm a young one.
  7. Hi! I am applying there also, as a painter. The program is as you say an integrated program, from what I understand, they are looking for students who want to work in a multidisciplinary way. As a photographer, it's a good place if you are open to pushing your installation/presentation further, or combining medias a little. That said, I have never been there, this is just information I got from looking up recent grads and the website itself. Hope this helps!
  8. beautiful. some of the black and white photos seem almost as if they had been taken at another time. there's a nice contrast with the ones that are more evidently from the 21st century.
  9. it's been so great checking out so many people's work! good little break between application segments. www.laurehelenecaseau.com
  10. I don't know if anyone else has heard of this program, but it was featured on Art & Education today. If I were applying for photography, I would definitely be interested so I thought I would share: http://www.hartfordphotomfa.org/
  11. Hi paintcutter! I actually applied to RCA before and was asked to interview, and was impressed by the tour. The studios are medium sized but good for a city setting, and very well maintained, airy and bright (the building is newly renovated). The painting building is a little out of the way of the rest of the campus but there seemed to be a really nice community there. The main campus buildings are beautiful. As for UCL I have not visited yet, but am hoping to be able to visit in the next few weeksi When I get the chance, I will gladly share an information I get. I might also try to tour Goldsmiths, as I was on the fence about whether to apply there or not.
  12. Caus - I've been wondering about the importance of department chair, versus other faculty member for recommendations? If it makes a lot of a difference? I had the same worry for the chair being busy! Seems like you have plenty of good options! I still haven't e-mailed anyone to ask yet. For some reason, asking for reference letters is one of the most stressful parts of applying to schools!
  13. Hi everyone! I am an abstract painter and applying for the second time. Round 2, with a lot more schools! Good luck to all.
