  1. I can't take the suspense of waiting! This is going to be a long Christmas...
  2. Congrats! Looks like all your letters came through!
  3. Congrats! What program is this?
  4. I know Kristin von Ranson at the University of Calgary sometimes does body image (collaborates with Shelley Russell-Mayhew in the Counselling Department), even though the bulk of her research does focus on ED. I know some past students have focused exclusively on body image research.
  5. You have to pay for transcripts? That sucks.
  6. Congrats on the interview! I'm going to have a heart attack everytime I see an update on this thread...
  7. I may be applying there again (I applied last year, but my application was incomplete due to a late reference letter). I've heard that it's fairly competitive. I think smaller programs in general (like places such as UNB, Regina, etc) that only get 50-60 applications per year just do so because they're just small, and maybe not as well known. UWO does get a lot of applications though, for a Canadian program.
  8. What happens when only one part of your GRE score is low? My quant score is just around the 50th percentile (I still have my old scores from 5 years ago, it was around the 70th percentile before the new GRE came into effect), while my verbal, analytic, and psych scores are all above the 80th percentile.
  9. No, it was Drexel. I'm slightly confused because I didn't have to pay an application fee either. If it's not updated by tomorrow morning, I guess I'll have to suck it and up and call, even though the international call rates will be killer. I had that with Texas A&M though, where they had processed the transcript from my Master's, but not my undergrad. It only took them until the day after though to update it.
  10. I'm a bit worried right now since one of my programs is still saying that my application is incomplete because it hasn't received any of my transcripts. I sent them at the beginning of November to make sure they'd get there in time, and they've received my GRE scores and all. Do you think I should contact the department/school?
  11. This is my third year applying to clinical programs. All I have left is apathy to protect my sanity.
  12. It was on the online application portal. That, and the website said they would not consider any applications with missing materials.
  13. Not all of them. One program I applied to disqualified me last year because my supervisor submitted his letter after the deadline.
  14. I unfortunately did not get Thanksgiving (mine was a month ago). I've completed 4 out of the 6 applications due tomorrow. I'm still struggling through the weird application form that TTU makes you do. Luckily all my reference letters and transcripts are in, so there's less stress. All my remaining applications aren't due until January 15, so I can take my time on those.
  15. My old graduate program didn't require the GRE (neither did the other major university in town, but that's because it was a bilingual university and it wouldn't be valid for the French applicants). It based its admissions criteria solely on GPA, research experience, and fit with faculty. You basically got accepted into the program if a specific faculty member pulled for you and you had a decent GPA.
  16. My boyfriend dumped me over text message last night after we spent the weekend together. I feel very used and betrayed right now, especially after told me he was planning on doing this for 4 weeks. And of course, I had to meet his parents last week ugh. I can't deal with this on top of applications.
  17. Oh man I definitely know about limited funds. Applying to grad school is so expensive. I'm being hit doubly hard by the US to Canadian dollar conversion for the application fees right now. Those are great programs though! I've met a few people from the program at Alabama and they've really liked it although I'm pretty unfamiliar with the American schools. I know Drexel has a strong forensic program, so keep it in mind if you should suddenly have extra funds!
  18. Haha yeah. Forensics is such a niche field still. It's a shame there's not enough spots. What other programs are you applying to?
  19. I'm applying to work with John Edens. His research is pretty similar to what I'm doing now.
  20. Oh wow. I was considering applying there. I'm glad I'm not now! That is very behind the times.
  21. I just got my confirmation on the 10th too. I sent it in the last week of October. I got a bit worried since it should have only taken at most 3 days to get there (mailed within Ottawa). I'd contact them if you haven't heard already.
  22. All of mine are electronic. The last time I saw an application where things needed to be mailed was 2012. What school is this for?
  23. I'm applying this year! This will be my third time applying to clinical programs, but first time applying outside of Canada. I'm applying to: -Simon Fraser University -University of Saskatchewan -Ryerson University -Texas A&M -University of Southern Florida -Drexel University -Texas Tech (counselling though, not clinical) I'm frantically trying to get my reference letters out to my referees, as I worry that I've left it too late at this point...
  24. I'll look over it!
  25. I was considering this program, but the website says that I'll have to redo my entire Master's since I don't have a clinical MA (I do have an MA in experimental forensic psychology), so I'm doubting whether I should apply or not. What's the program like in terms of difficulty/research, if you don't mind me asking?
