I'm planning to write the GRE again (previously wrote it back in 2011, but my scores will expire this summer). I'm planning on writing it in May or June, the sooner the better. I'm strong in verbal (scored at the 85th percentile the first time around), so hopefully I can be of some help there.

Everyone I know just resubmits the same thing every year, they really don't care. I've also resubmitted the same personal statement, and no one has called me out on it yet (to be honest, they receive so many per year that it's doubtful that they'll remember).

I actually did that with my top choices this year (building relationships), but it didn't seem to work for me. It's just disheartening when this is my third year applying and nothing seems to work.

They just seemed to like me better 3 years ago, when I had no pubs and no conference presentations, compared to all of the ones I have now...it's such a discouraging process to be honest, and it feels like they're constantly moving the bar higher and higher.

Only direct applicants (those that didn't apply through their university department) hear directly from SSHRC that they've been sent to the national competition. Everyone who got sent to nationals should hear back April/May as to whether they were successful.

Official rejection from Saskatchewan Better start prepping my apps for next year I guess, although I doubt if they didn't find me competitive this year, they're going to be any more favourable net year....

I'm surprised you received a response! I emailed both Joni and my POI and heard nothing back. Still, I figure if I haven't had an interview yet, my chances don't look good.

Folks who were accepted to USF: how were you notified, and did it come from your POI or from the DCT?

Nothing at all. I didn't interview, but I didn't get rejected in the two separate rounds of rejection emails that went out, so I'm wondering what is going on.

Finally got my notification that I've been passed on to the national competition! Too bad the chances of me getting into a program don't look so good right now...

Carleton is always really slow. I didn't hear from them until the first week of April when I applied (when I found out I was waitlisted). I think most profs don't actually look at applications until March.

Have any direct applicants on the west coast received their letters yet? I'm regretting using my Calgary address right now....

Could the person who got the invite to interview at Drexel today PM me? I want to know if you came off a back-up list, as I didn't receive a rejection in the mass rejection email 2 weeks ago!!

Congrats! What are your stats, if you don't mind me asking? I'm going to be a wreck until my letter comes. I'm in Toronto, but like an idiot I put down my parent's address in Calgary since it's more permanent. It's going to be a few more days I guess...

Did anyone apply to Drexel, not interview, but didn't receive a rejection email today? I've heard absolutely nothing, and the website says that my application is still under review. I feel like I'm in some sort of limbo.
