To add a few more to top out the top 25 (and then some), using data from https://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/. Dates are of modal acceptances, and rejections tend to come a little bit later. ** for schools with weird data. To consolidate:

**Jan 16 UIUC - tricky and no good data from last year. Based off 2017.

Jan 22 Emory

**Jan 22: Interviews and rejections for GWU, with acceptances Feb 23

Jan 24, 2018    Wisconsin

Jan 25 Ohio State

Jan 25 Penn State

Jan 29 Northwestern

Jan 30, 2018    Duke
Jan 31, 2018    Berkeley

Jan 31 UC Davis

Jan 31, 2018    Princeton

Feb 02, 2018    NYU
Feb 02, 2018    UCSD
Feb 05, 2018    UCLA
Feb 06, 2018    Michigan

**Feb 6 (approximately, results have more variation) UT Austin

Feb 7 WashU (St Louis)

Feb 8 UNC

Feb 14, 2018    MIT
Feb 15, 2018    Cornell
Feb 15, 2018    Stanford

Feb 17 Rochester

Feb 19, 2018    Penn
Feb 22, 2018    Columbia

Feb 19 Minnesota

Feb 22 Vanderbilt

Feb 23, 2018    Georgetown
Mar 01, 2018    Harvard
Mar 01, 2018    Yale
Mar 09, 2018    Chicago

Looking through Results postings from the past three years for Political Science PhD applications, I found that U Chicago sent out its initial chunk of decisions on 2/3/16, 2/2/17, and 2/12/18. Is the March 9, 2018 date repeated a few times above a latest date on which admissions were sent?

I'd trust what you find on the results section more than the OP's methodology, as it's possible that there wasn't enough posted data on uchicago to get the initial (and probably largest) wave of acceptances. If they tended to come in early February they probably will come in early February.

If there's demand for it, I can crawl through the results page for all the OP's schools later this week (or if someone else wants to do that that'd be cool too lol)

Does anyone apply BU and know that when are they releasing the results? They had the earliest deadline in my list (December 1), so I am waiting to hear back from them firstly. There are some Sociology programs which people started to hear back in the sociology group, and those programs had the December 1 deadline, as well. I did not see the name of the BU in the list above but it is one of my top choices, and I am super excited.

Ohio State's admissions decisions will come out in late January this year, with funding decisions probably around the third week in February.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping Ohio State would be one of the first to notify, but I'm glad I know when to expect something instead of being a nervous wreck for a month.

Do you know if they will be conducting interviews at all?

Yes, but whether or not to call is up to the faculty member who's asked to review the file. So a call means you're on the medium list, but no news means no news.

Thanks for answering! I really appreciate it!

Someone on another thread mentioned yesterday they had been recommended to the graduate school for admission so I would presume its them (although it sounds unofficial at this point)

Thanks! From past threads it seems like rejections come later in the month. Will assume it's a rejection then. :(

Just heard from GWU -- accepted!!

It's a great feeling to start with a yes. I know they're not tippy tippy top tier but still very exciting for me.

wow! congratulations!

Finally, it seems that GWU is making decisions. One question: according to the past postings and comments, GWU runs an interview for every applicants. I guess this year they decided not to, maybe?
