I didn't look at my application until a few weeks ago, so I have no idea if anything changed in December/January. I was published twice as an undergrad, and have a nearly perfect GPA. WHAT DO THEY WANT FROM ME? i'm just pissed that I spent so much time on my application, and really honed it to be as good as possible, and it was all for nothing. I guess I can apply to other things, but grad school would be so much easier with secure funding. Now I am going to probably have to TA next year. I hope the best for everyone else on here, and I am grateful for the information that has been shared along the way. Makes no sense that they would selectively inform some awardees, some alternates, and some denials, without informing the entirety of the application class... Honestly, I actually do appreciate this sense of solidarity from all the other people who are equally as anxious. I didn't really care that much about NSF, but I really wanted NDSEG and put a lot into this application and I can't make my peace without getting a decision and it's pretty shitty that some people are shitposting. Objectively, yeah we're taking this way too seriously, but it's definitely an emotional process and of course we care. I laughed a bit at the first one, but the next few just stressed me out - and I can't imagine being in a situation where my living arrangements and life for the next 2+ years depended on this.
