AspiringSLP35 Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 I am looking through ASHAs stats for grad programs and its depressing!! Majority of the schools are for students with high GPAs and those with low GPAs might not get it!!
AlwaysaFalcon Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Personally I didn't have the "perfect" high gpa. My cumulative gpa from undergrad was a 3.34. It took me three application cycles to get into grad school but I got there

Avschilling Posted September 30, 2019 Posted September 30, 2019 Not always! I did not have a "high" GPA I had 3.2! BUT I did have over a 300 on the GRE! Once has to be able to out weight the other!
KEIM Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 We'll see. My first GPA is crap...but my 2nd BA in COMD is much higher. I also have the same fears that my cGPA will basically disqualify me but I'm going to give it a shot anyway! AspiringSLP35 1
futurespeechpath1 Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 Not necessarily! Yes they look at numerical first but they look at personal statement and experiences second so if you have a GPA an GRE that aren't "perfect" but solid experiences and a golden personal statement it'd help a lot AspiringSLP35 1

Where are you applying? I'm applying to online programs, they are listed in my signature. Not sure if you can see them. Emerson | Baylor | NOVA | U of St. Augustine | U of South Carolina | NYU Steinhardt |

slptobe! Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Definitely not! I didn't have a great gpa and got in! I've also met several people in my program that have said the same, so don't give up! If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask!

ImHis Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 You have to find the school that values you. Go visit and speak with the professors/directors. I had a 2.7 overall and 4.0 in CSD courses and got in. There is a school for everyone.
