Hi, I am an international student and did my undergrad in Canada. I received an offer from McGill yesterday. I thought they would send out offers for international students first considering it would take a long time to apply/renew a study visa during covid but it seems not like the case ..

Man some of y’all out here really making me question even spending the application fees to apply?? please tell me regular humans also apply to and get into PH grad programs?! I have a 4.15GPA, no research experience??‍♀️ 2 undergrads (1 is public health) and a shit ton of experience working with women in conflict with the law. 
 

will be creating a new thread for ‘average humans who got rejected’ AHAHA I’m kidding but it’s crazy some of the stats you folks have!

honestly ur stats arent even average theyre literally above average girl r u kidding. im here with a meh gpa and no relevant experience/research experience like ??

Just came across this forum. I received an offer for the MScPPH program at UBC last week and received an offer for the MPH at UBC today!

Thanks folks! I feel so far behind compared to so many people posting on here - I did *not* realize these programs were as crazy competitive as they are when I applied!

Congratulations! I'm truly so happy for all three of you. UBC is an especially tough school to wait for, given how the 2019 and 2020 forums seem to show that UBC only accepts and waitlists in the second week of March, followed by mostly (if only) rejections.

Got accepted in UBC MPH yesterday!

I told myself come to leave a message in this thread if I got an offer... Waiting was such a torture but checking this thread made me feel I had company...

Still waiting for other schools, but I think I will accept UBC anyway.

I got the following email from U of A: "We have recommended you to the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research for admission into our program. They are requesting that you provide a grading guide."

I sent them the grading guide, but that first sentence threw me off. My GSMS still says my application is Under Review, but that sentence seems to imply that I've been offered admission???

Right now I am leaning more towards the MPH but definitely need to think more about it!

I'm a Canadian applicant, finished my bachelors in 2019, currently in a one year master program, not sure exactly what my gpa is but I think it's around 3.82 cumulative. For research I volunteered, worked and did a directed studies for a lab during undergrad. Held a NSERC for my last summer at the lab.

I did not have a confirmed supervisor but identified three specific ones I would want to work with.
