Heyy Congratulations everyone for the invites! I guess that is a silent rejection for me then? Did you guys get an email from the department? And would you guys mind sharing your stats and PIs? It would really help me to get an reality check?

This is the first interview invite I've gotten so far! I got an invite from the Program Manager via email. I've also applied to epi programs at Yale, Harvard, JHU, BU, and Columbia, but haven't heard anything from them.

I got my MPH in infectious disease epi in 2020 and have been doing clinical epi research the past two years at the same university where I got my MPH. I have 2 first-author publications, 2 mid-author publications, and 4 second-author manuscripts in preparation. My undergrad GPA was 3.24 (w/ an upward academic trend). The low GPA the first few years of undergrad were due to an immediate family death, which I explained in my SOP. My grad GPA was 3.5. I did not submit GREs for any of the programs. My LORs were from 2 academic professors in epi and my 3rd LOR was from my current PI who is a physician-scientist in epi. I also worked part time for my state DPH doing disease surveillance for two years.

Talking with one of my advisors, they were saying how PhD programs are a matter of numbers! They saw some really strong candidates not have any acceptances and then the opposite as well! (I was worried bc my GPAs weren’t as high as some of the other candidates I’ve seen) I am hoping you receive the good news emails and that you also get into your dream school and program, as well!

Nothing from Harvard PHS-SBS from me yet. Hoping to hear back soon! Though I’m not expecting anything before the end of the month tbh. Good luck! ??

I saw someone got interview invites from Brown and Emory Epi programs. It looks like it would be a silent rejection for those who haven't got the invitations? or... they keep sending out invitations within the few hours?...

Anyone heard back from Emory Epi?

Got an email this morning about a virtual visit day at the end of the month, which I believe is an interview day. I am not sure if it's been sent to everyone or not, but they did want folks to RSVP asap, so unfortunately that might mean it's been sent to everyone they're currently eyeing for spots--but I am just guessing, I could be wrong since there's a fair amount of time until the visit day

Thanks for the info! Much appreciated!! And congratulations on receiving an invite from Emory!

I'll stop lurking and finally post. I like seeing some DrPH applicants in here! I've seen a few JHU DrPH folks. I've applied to JHU, UNC, UIC, and Rutgers, all for the hybrid DrPH programs. At JHU I also applied for the American Health Initiative fellowship.

As far as I know, JHU and UNC give decisions in March, not sure about UIC, and Rutgers is late January. So... now I'm checking my email constantly! Just torturing myself until March...

Has anyone heard from University of Washington's Health Services PhD program, regarding interview invites?? It's been fairly quiet and I can't tell if the folks invited to interview simply don't stalk/use TheGradCafe or if I've lived another day in their application review...regardless I would love to stop holding my breath :/

I just received an informal acceptance from a POI at UMass Amherst for the PhD in Health Policy and Management, along with a Fellowship! Official acceptance and more info about the Fellowship to come later on. I did not interview. Super excited!

Hello, I was wondering if had any previous contact with POI or just shared the name in your SOP?
