I had actually applied to other programs at Carleton (MA in policy, etc) but chose social work because it was the most competitive and gave the best funding package. Also, I am a macro/policy girl, and Ottawa is the place to be for that type of work (paid placements in the federal government are clutch). As I was not graduating my BSW until August from Carleton, other schools would not accept my application for 2021/22; Carleton was the only school I could apply to at the time .

This is what I’m hoping for as well! Last year it looks like people started hearing from Waterloo around March 3.

Hi everyone! Congrats to everyone who’s received acceptance offers. I was waitlisted from Ryerson yesterday to the advanced standing program. Does anyone know how many people are waitlisted and what are the odds of getting a spot? I’ve also applied to UofT, Waterloo, and Wilfred Laurier.

I'm unsure of how many people are waitlisted (I was waitlisted too!) but I think the chances of getting a spot depend on how many of the students that were accepted wanted to go to Ryerson and that was their number 1 pick, or if they're waiting on another acceptance from another program. I think only time will tell at this point, still a waiting game unfortunately ?

Congrats! I got a call too! ? I was wondering, on Ramms for you, have you recieved an official communication? On the phone I was told I had 10 days to accept so now I'm nervous for no reason.. I mean they called Friday so I'll probably see it reflected in Ramms with an email Monday. ?

Ohh nice! I was talking about 2 years though. I heard advance standing applicants get to know earlier than 2 years.

Hello everybody,

I have been following this thread for a while and congrats to everyone who has gotten in. I am wondering if anyone else has applied to Carleton's 1 year advanced program and  has still not heard back? My status changed to "Review in progress by Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs" on Thursday but still haven't heard anything since then. It seems like a lot of people have been posting there results last week but mine wont change.

random question- just accepted my offer to Carleton for the 2 year MSW program, is there a way to eventually withdrawal the application if I get accepted to UofT? it didn't prompt me to pay a deposit or anything which seemed strange to me?

My status also changed to this on Friday morning and I haven’t heard anything. I think it’s alphabetical. My friend heard back whose last name begins with an N. My last name begins with an S. I suspect tomorrow is the last day that we’ll have to wait.

Thank you! Congrats to you too! ? And they told me i should receive something by Tuesday and my Ramms page is also still not updated. But they told me I had 24hrs to accept so I don’t lose the offer

hey! i know someone who was waitlisted friday evening and her last name starts with an S it should come anyday now

Ad check Ramms, mine was updated today and I was able to accept their offer! Also I was told I had 10 days to accept? And that to just accept and not pay a deposit to hold my spot in case I was waiting to hear from another school.
