Hey! That's so interesting but also kind of strange that they told someone else we'd hear back this week and now it's April? Did they give you a reason why? The deadline to accept offers is April 15th so I'd think early April cuts it close

That's so strange! When I called they said they were aiming for this week, so it's possible that they decided to push it back in order to have more time to review the applications.

She mentioned that they want to give responses out at the same time as the other canadian schools.

McGill just updated the website to reflect the new date for application decisions. April 2. Now we can all try and relax for the next 2ish weeks hahah

I wonder if this means the applicant portal will update at midnight or if they'll send emails/call sometime during that day... either way that's gonna be one stressful day with ORPAS decisions coming out at midnight the next day!

I assume that they are aiming for that first week of April but if anyone knows, let me know

Hi! I still haven't gotten any news from UdeM or Ottawa! I have a feeling we'll get news around the first week of April. Hopefully, we'll be hearing back from them sooner since I am super anxious hahaa

Does anyone else follow the U of A rehab med page on Instagram? Seems weird that they are still accepting applications for the Saskatchewan cohort. That could be why they are pushing the admission decisions ?

Volunteer Opportunity: Support for Speech-Language Pathology/Linguistics Project

 

We are seeking a dedicated individual to assist with the preparation of child language transcripts this summer. The project focuses on analyzing the language and fluency of children with Tourette’s syndrome seen at the Tourette Syndrome and Pediatric Movement Disorders Clinic in Calgary. The volunteer will play a crucial role in helping to prepare transcripts for analysis using the Systematic Analysis of Language Transcripts (SALT) program transcription conventions. Ideal candidates will have completed an introductory syntax course and possess a strong understanding of English syntax. Familiarity with the SALT transcription conventions is an asset.

This is a volunteer position with a small honorarium attached. The commitment is for the duration of the summer (May through August), with flexible, remote/work-from-home scheduling.

I emailed the academic advisor and they are aiming to send out decisions at the beginning of April, however it may be later than that. So we may be hearing back a little bit later this year.

Anyone else anxiously awaiting hearing back from UBC? I applied for AUD and SLP and am thinking we many not hear back on April first due to it being Easter monday? Im also wondering how competitive the Aud application is.

Historically acceptances have been on the end of the first week of April (they send it out rolling and I believe the first letters of acceptance started around the 6th-7th ish last year). I have a feeling it could be even later this year though due to the new Victoria cohort but hopefully we’ll get lucky.

I think AUD has only 12 spots but I’m not sure how many people apply - it is a bit harder if you’re out of province though as I believe Winnie the advisor said to someone this year 90% of seats are reserved for residents of the west coast. I didn’t apply for AUD but for SLP and also so nervous waiting - I think these next two weeks will be nerve wracking for everyone here 🥲

I also haven't heard from UdeM! On my centre étudiant it seems to say that april 1st is when decisions will come out.

I could be misunderstanding, but in my centre étudiant page under the tab called dem. admission active, at the top of the page it says date admission: 01/04/2024. Not sure what else it could mean so i was assuming admissions were going out april 1st?

Is anyone else who applied to Canadian schools applying with a sub gpa of 3.75!? I thought it was decent until Mcmasters cut off was 3.82.

How do you know what the cut-off was?

And I find this post helpful when stressing about my GPA, its from earlier this year: " I got immediately rejected from Mac (my sGPA was too low to even get an interview) yet I got an acceptance from U of T April 1st. I also got 3 waitlists, McGill, Western and Dal, yet I only got off the waitlist for Dal. There was NO way for me to have predicted these results if I compared my sGPA to other people I assure you." Just basically saying try not to focus on your GPA as its hard to tell what schools are looking for!

I should’ve said “assuming” the cut off because I’m not 100% sure, that’s just the lowest sgpa I heard of that got an interview at MAC this round of admissions!

Did you guys get an email from McGill about a prospective student's day on April 6th? Does this mean we won't hear back from admissions until after the 6th??
