I just (i.e. ca. 2:30 CST) received a call from Yale (Dale Martin) unofficially offering admission to the Ph.D. program in New Testament. The official letter will come in the mail in due course. I am not the one who posted on the results forum yet.

I'm the one who posted the result for Yale NT - I also got a call from Dale Martin around the same time. Congratulations, Ishmael!

katholou - please tell me you got into Duke in the ThD and your turning it down for Yale!

Unfortunately, it was the Duke PhD

According to the results page, it looks like Yale has made offers to 3 people this year in NT. Either they're making up for shortages in previous years or something is amiss.

I think that the one posted Monday was a fake; I heard that the admissions committee didn't even meet till Tuesday. I know that Call Me Ishmael interviewed with Yale, so I trust his acceptance, which would make for two this year.

Were you interviewed before your acceptance, and if so, when?

Likewise, katholou. What an exciting day!

Did anyone apply to CAMS at Penn State? I've heard great things about the department (Knoppers, Halpern and Killebrew), despite the fact that it doesn't seem to be extremely well known. I'm well aware of some of the department's strengths and weaknesses, but I haven't seen any chatter about it on the forums. I'm just curious if it was on anyone's radar, or if they had at least considered it.

PSU's CAMS department has undergone large budget cuts over the last three years, and applicants must compete with all history applicants for funding. Last year, they accepted zero applicants, and this year they weren't even accepting applications.

Yale just notified. Rejected! It wasn't a good match anyways, but I hope some lucky few will enjoy their time there!

I just got my rejection as well. I'm at peace with the decision. I'm grateful to have other options at this point. I wish everyone else luck with their applications and decisions.

Make that three for a Yale rejection... wasn't even in my top four schools, but rejection is never fun even if you didn't really care about going there!

Anyone apply to Marquette's JCA program? I've seen a couple of theology acceptances but nothing on the JCA program. Anyone heard of NT people gaining acceptance?

It's a good fit for me so here's to hoping . . .

U Chicago Div emailed acceptances (at least to internal applicants) this afternoon. Full offer and information packet coming next week.

My only outstanding application is to UT-Austin's Religious Studies department. Has anybody heard word from them yet?

I got a rejection email from them at the beginning of February, but that was the Near Eastern side, not the religious studies side.

Anyone have any info on Syracuse, Virginia, or Indiana-Bloomington? I've been accepted to Northwestern, but I really feel like I need to wait to see what happens with those schools. A friend of mine said he was waitlisted at Syracuse last week, but I've yet to hear anything. I've seen one acceptance on the results survey. Seen a few waitlists and acceptances for UVA as well there but no rejections for either. I've seen no posts about IU.

I'm thrilled with my offer from NU; I go out there for a wine and dine weekend March 8. But I don't want to start mentally moving to Evanston if there's going to be a better offer. Patience is really tough.

I'm sort of assuming at this point it's going to be a no from any school I haven't heard from yet--is that wrong though?

I emailed Indiana at the beginning of last week. Here is the response I got from the DGS on February 21, 2012:

"
We are nearing the point when we can send out notifications, but are not quite there yet."
