I have received a couple of generic e-mails from Baylor to the effect of, "These are all the reasons that Baylor is a fantastic place for graduate studies . . ."

After applying in NT, I did not receive an invitation to interview at Baylor, but I'm wondering if this means anything or if everyone else is also receiving them? A friend of mine who applied last year (in systematics) received a similar e-mail and was waitlisted. He thought it might be something they send to candidates with high GRE scores. Anyone else who applied to Baylor getting these gut wrenching e-mails?

MakleIan, to which program did you apply, Religious Studies or Near Eastern Studies? I've applied to RS and am anxious to hear word!

I applied to Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures.

Yes, I am, being sent from "Graduate Admissions". I think your friend is right—I believe they send these emails to folks above a certain GRE score, but that's only a hunch.

Geo13: I interviewed and haven't heard anything; based on no posts in the Results Search, I would say that Vandy has not yet sent their decisions. I will post in the Results area as soon as I hear.

I'm waiting on Emory also (Hebrew Bible), although I didn't get invited to their interview weekend.

Has anyone heard from UCLA yet (NELC)? I saw someone post an acceptance into an MA program, but haven't seen anything on PhD. Based upon the last few years on the results search, they begin announcement in mid-February. But, I spoke with the Student Affairs officer this past week, and she assured me that the committee hadn't even met yet! #conflictinginformation

I saw someone posted on the results page that Fordham has started acceptance calls, has anyone else heard anything from them?

I just returned from Baylor's preview weekend. I'm not sure that I'll end up there - it's a good fit, but not a perfect one - but I did want to give the program a plug. I was quite impressed with both their faculty and their NT students, and their stipend to cost of living ratio for qualified students is probably better than any other school's (outside of ND's top scholarships). If anyone's scoping out places to apply for NT in the future, definitely give them a look.

Looks like some people got acceptances from Vanderbilt. Congrats! I didn't get called for interview for Vandy if that means I'm out of the running I wish they would just send rejections out alreayd.

I Skype interviewed this morning with Chicago for Bible this morning, and I see that someone else has received an unofficial acceptance today - I appear to have been weighed in the balance and found wanting. Congrats to the acceptee!

Ditto - I'd like my rejection letter please.

I really hate telemarketers. I received a phone call earlier today from an unknown number and got excited. I answered to hear a recorded voice on the other side selling me something. Ugh. What bad timing.

Got rejection e-mail from Duke ThD today. Since I haven't heard back from Notre Dame (History of Christianity), should I assume I have been rejected there? Still waiting on SMU/Perkins as well - although I don't think anyone has heard back from them yet.

LLP: That totally happened to me a few days ago! The day I got accepted to UW-Madison I got a call from a Wisconsin number. I got really excited because I thought it was going to be my POI calling to talk about funding, but it turned out to be one of my students. She probably wondered why I was so short with her...

ND has already sent out invites for the interview weekend, but if you haven't received a rejection, then I wouldn't consider yourself rejected. You may be on a 'maybe' list and they'll have to see how things pan out at the interview weekend. They have 2 slots and are interviewing 5 people.

OMG just the other day I got a random wrong number call from Providence Rhode Island. I about flipped my lid when I saw the phone ring. I was sure it was Brown >_<
