dramanda Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 It's hot! Look at all the people browsing this thread! There's at least 60 people. Hard to tell. It's a list of everyone in "The Bank", not differentiated by thread.
canadiangirl78 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Maybe those who have learned their results can just list their school for the sake of the rest of us (and our sanity?) So far - Waterloo? Anyone else?
julesweinrib Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Update for the U of T crowd. I live a block away from SGS, so I popped my head in 10 minutes ago and was told they have the results... BUT they are not letting students find out through them. All records will be forwarded to the departments by thursday at the latest, and hopefully tomorrow (their hopes, not mine).

I was told weeks ago that we could call them directly BY THEM
ogopogo Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Well, at least thanks to Natalia's link we know that people who applied directly to SSHRC, and who said they were planning to attend a Canadian school, will be able to find out from that school.
canadiangirl78 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 How hard can it be to forward results to the departments? It's not like there are thousands of applications per school.. Jeez.. It's just a handful from every department and it's not even 3 pm..
canadiangirl78 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Ok so: Waterloo UoT and it seems Waterloo is kinder to its students.. lol..
mm3776 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I've been lurking here for the past few weeks, trying to regain my sanity by reassuring myself I wasn't the only one losing it. I just called our grad studies office (Memorial) and they don't have anything yet re: Ph.D. results. This is crazy.
Neatgirl Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I just got a call back from Guelph and they do have the results. The will be posting to the departments today or tomorrow but she took pity on me and let me know - I got a CGS! I thanked her profusely and got off the phone to post back here.

synecdoche Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Congrats! Contacted my department secretary, who says that the department hasn't received anything yet. Grumble, grumble...
Christopher Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Just got off the phone with grad studies at UVic - I was successful in getting SSHRC for the next 3 years! :D UVic has sent off information to the graduate advisors, but will release the infomation if you call them. Carolyn Swayze is the person that you'll want to talk to.

sylvinka Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Sincere congratulations to all! I haven't heard so far anything from our grad studies or my department at MUN (NL). Still waiting for their response.
canuckle Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Wow!! Look at everyone go! Congratulations to all!!! And to all who haven't heard form their DGS yet, or have heard that they know and won't bother to tell you--wow, that is pretty fuckerly. Now we see why students get a little upset at those poor dears every once in a while....
medievalman Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Hi everyone, My application was successful as well! Just got an email from our departmental secretary! Thanks to all of you for keeping me sane(ish) over the last month!
canuckle Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 To those who have heard news (and aren't off at the pub yet) could you please post your schools?
ogopogo Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Wow...look at us go...hope the success rate stays this good for all of us forum keeners. And of course, congrats to everyone who was successful!

Sylvinka - Apparently Gail Lamkin is off today, and she is the one with access to the SSHRC info at MUN. The woman that I spoke with at SGS today said to call back tomorrow to speak to Gail.
