3/5: A letter from PSU (which is supposed to be an acceptance letter, I guess? JEALOUS) for one housemate, and a package for another housemate. Why do my housemates get all the mail arghhhhhhhhhhhh

Well, I spoke to soon. Got an email from the MA program I was accepted to detailing the funding offer (well, saying that they need me to let them know so they can nominate me for a fellowship) but... I don't understand the funding paragraph at all. I understood it on the phone, but the offer in writing seems different.

Got a decision email from SUNY Albany, stated:

Unfortunately, it was not among those that were selected by the admissions committee from the group of very competitive applicants.

I hope there will be better news tomorrow. :)

Two bills. I have to file an insurance claim for one of them. The only thing that could make that mailbox worse today is a grad school rejection... but that one was in my email inbox.

My parents have started hiding all of my mail (most of it is junk, and I have all of my bills electronically mailed to me) and immediately tell me I got nothing as soon as I walk through the door.

They understand.

Today: One rejection (Columbia) and one acceptance (York). So this morning my inbox was very productive...

Congratulations... now buy our graduation announcements. <_<

Gah! I abhor these things! The only thing worse is the grad picture people! It's like, "No, I do not want to spend $150 on many copies of awkward me sashaying across the stage with an expression that emulates, not joy or achievement, but unadulterated fear that I will trip, discomfort because I couldn't pin the robe properly and regret regarding my choice of shoes. In any case, I have, already, scanned copies of the sample pic that you sent, digitally removed the watermark and sent it 'round to close friends/family who were interested (and can laugh WITH me and my obstinate expression). So leave me alone!"

Besides, I WILL convocate again someday! I've got a few years to practice my picture smile for next time! :D

Lol. Yeah, because my school doesn't provide all of this stuff for a highly discounted rate compared to these people, and because I can't make a graduation announcement myself. We do have printers these days. I think instead of spending $10 and some ink, I'll pay $200 for you to do the same thing with slightly more expensive paper... right.

I got one rejection from the Molecular Genetics department at Stony Brook SUNY and one wait list from the Genetics department of Stony Brook.... Soooo not exactly a productive inbox. Just more waiting.
