Mnemonics2 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Ok, has anyone had any luck contacting the department at UVa? I know their process isn't over at all yet, but getting in touch via email has been frankly impossible.
Cesare Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I surrendered and nudged Minnesota. I feel so guilty, I know they're busy, but ahhh! If you find out anything, let us know. I would e-mail/call them, but if you done so already then I don't want to bombard them.
Quigley Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Seems like there are a lot of us who never heard one way or the other from Minnesota.
upam Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 So for this week we still have hopes for Princeton and potentially more Yale decisions? Anything else we're waiting on (impatiently!)?
certaincertainties Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 So for this week we still have hopes for Princeton and potentially more Yale decisions? Anything else we're waiting on (impatiently!)? Potentially more from Johns Hopkins (maybe?) and decisions/list notifications from Brown? I'd also love closure on UMinn and NWU.
alittlebitofluck Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Congrats to ASU, Penn, UBC, and UCSC. I am particularly jealous of the UBC admit - few places possess as much beauty as British Columbia. Also, I am in at MSU. Always suprised by the late-night emails . . . Cesare 1
PoliSwede Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 (edited) In at Michigan State! I now have a choice to make....feels really weird. And I'm still slightly in shock that any programs wanted me at all. Edited February 21, 2013 by Lemeard Littlej8, alittlebitofluck, Cesare and 3 others 6
Mnemonics2 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Ok, on late in the evening (EST) to report an acceptance to both GMU and Georgetown's PP programs. Though I'm an enthusiastic political science guy with a desire to research and teach IR....I'm actually kind of torn...particularly since they offer amazing funding. Is our field (polisci) one of the lower funding fields?
RiffRam Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 In at Michigan State! I now have a choice to make....feels really weird. And I'm still slightly in shock that any programs wanted me at all. I'm with you there! I'm amazed to have any offers, let alone 3! PoliSwede 1
lisasimpson Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 officially rejected from Northwestern, It is not fun.
chaetzli Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 officially rejected from Northwestern, It is not fun. I'm so sorry. I had the impression that it was one of your top choices - right? I know that this is very disappointing. Virtual encouragement hug. lisasimpson 1
news2yous Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Thought so. I'll let you know. So... any news from UCLA?
CGMJ Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 (edited) Congrats to the Simon Fraser admit! (I'm assuming there's only one person since it's unlikely that two people were the sole nominee for many scholarships ). Edited February 21, 2013 by CGMJ chaetzli 1

Congrats on MSU! Looks like a tough choice between two good schools, normally you can look at weather and location as added factors but not with these two!

MinnesotaWinter Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Seems like there are a lot of us who never heard one way or the other from Minnesota. It's almost like they're being passive aggressive with their decision making, just like real Minnesotans! Cesare 1
doctoralgrad23 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 GWU,Maryland,UFL,FSU,UVa,SUNY Bing.... Still no news..
RiffRam Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Anyone think we'll hear from Florida today or tomorrow?
healthyboy Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Just got off the phone with Princeton, they anticipate that everyone will hear by the end of February.
brkrgal85 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 GWU,Maryland,UFL,FSU,UVa,SUNY Bing.... Still no news.. FSU has put out their offers in late January. Not sure if they have a wait list or they just wait to see how many reject. I think they have a target class of 10.
Tupamaros Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Congrats to the MIT masters admit. Does anyone know if they do funding for their masters?
