Gov2School Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I wonder if that's a mistake and they meant the PEPM Master's program. I know from other threads that the SIPA PEPM decisions did go out on 3/14. The Grad Cafe results page may just not allow you to be that specific when you say what program you get in to.
samiam Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 You're probably right - I'm just getting jumpy. Six applications in, and no news from any of them yet...
wiseking Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I think you are right, the PEPM results are started to announced two days ago, and I am one of them: ) Still waiting for my application result to "real" SIPA MPA thoug. According to last years' "gradcafe results page" the decision will made between 17-26 March. And I guess they realase results gradually between these periods. Finally why SIPA? International focus, very attractive New York city and ivy league trade mark!
alloy Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 SIPA website says that the results will be announced on 18th March.
tingtong13 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Hey alloy where does it say that decisions will be released on the 18th? Can you link it here? thanks
aquarius Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 https://new.sipa.columbia.edu/admissions/program-admissions/miampa-admissions If you click on the "Prepare to Apply" tab, it opens up an application timeline with March 18th listed as "Application Notified." gwualum4mpp, thrtyfutsmurf and alloy 3
tingtong13 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Oh thanks ! was looking all over i wonder if it was there earlier or if it was just updated.
tingtong13 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Also someone has posted on the results page that they got an admit for MPA on the 11th! confused
Gov2School Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 If you read back one page on this thread, you can see that the one person who is listed on the Results Search page is in the PEPM program. The PEPM participants heard earlier this week about their program, but no info on the regular MPA or MIA program has been released yet. Given how late SIPA's deadline is, it's not surprising that their notifications would come in a little later.
1091098098 Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 SIPA says they're going to release decisions starting next week for MIA/MPA/MPA-DP@ http://blogs.cuit.columbia.edu/sipa/
Joyma Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Just called the office. they will start to send out decisions on 18th. Everyone good luckkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!
glendronach Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I didn't get an email but when I logged in to my application account I noticed my status is updated and I got admitted to MIA (concentration: International Security Policy, specialization: International Conflict Resolution). No word on scholarship. The letter says they will provide further info on financial aid and scholarships in a few weeks. The letter is from Grace Han, the Executive Director of Admissions and Financial Aid. I am an international applicant and the only problem is my TOEFL is 109 and since it is lower than 110, the letter says, I should either re-take TOEFL or take a summer course at the school. Anyway, if you didn't receive any email, I recommend you to check online whether your application is updated or not.
Gov2School Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I tried to log in but it says that the status check page has been disabled by the administrators, so I'm guessing they're in the process of updating all the applications tonight.
hualalalala Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 got in with 50k/yr! making it even harder to decide...
Gov2School Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 got in with 50k/yr! making it even harder to decide... How are you guys checking your status?
hualalalala Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 How are you guys checking your status? i just logged in and saw there's a link of status update
Envy2 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Accepted. Don't see any mention of funding one way or another — where are people seeing this?
Gov2School Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 For me it's in the third paragraph of the acceptance letter. They may just be doing that for merit scholarships though, and putting need-based funding in the mail package.
It's A Mystery! Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 seriously - not seeing this, how did you guys find your letters?
samiam Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I think they're putting them up gradually - when I checked a couple of hours ago mine still said 'application submitted', checked an hour later and my letter was there. Best of luck!
ohmyohme Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I'm in (with no funding, sad). But when I called CU last night, they said decisions would be released this week and next week - yours just might not be updated yet. Congrats to all of those accepted (and with funding!).
