aba1984 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Yes, and I think the lack of response is also a sign of rejection. Been emailing Vanderbilt for 3 weeks now without a response - so now I'm pretty much psychologically primed for that rejection.
LMac Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 30-90% - it's anybody's guess. All I know that for my program, Emory accepts almost everyone and WuSTL accepts about 50% of their interviewees. I don't know about the others I applied to. Last year Emory Neuroscience accepted about 32% of those that interviewed on campus (not sure how many more had Skype interviews), but I'm sure this varies across programs
byt2104 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Einstein interview. Not sure if I'll take it yet. SysEvo 1

sayitaintso Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) Got that evil email from Rockefeller too. Wish it was an interview! Edited January 2, 2014 by sayitaintso
T.J Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Doncha worry, gradcafe will be the first to know if I decline Congrats! waiting on Einstein here. I saw 2 results posted in the survey section. Fingers crossed!
aba1984 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Did anyone see all those mass WUSTL rejections on the results page? Were they all for neuro or DBBS overall?
dembugsdo Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Another victim of the UCSF death ray here. Gonna stay positive and focus on my existing interviews, though. I do appreciate them sending it out relatively early, rather than stringing hopeful people along for a while. Fingers crossed for everybody waiting for interview offers in the next couple of weeks! rexzeppelin and sunpenguin 2
immun0 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Is it fair to assume UCSF + Weill Cornell rejections likely means a Stanford rejection also, or is there still hope? :/
CanRes Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uUlOAyQsn4 Time to break out this video, it may help some others as well. sciguy 1
Orims Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Is it fair to assume UCSF + Weill Cornell rejections likely means a Stanford rejection also, or is there still hope? :/ I'm pretty sure Stanford won't start sending interviews until mid January, so don't lose hope!
sciguy Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uUlOAyQsn4 Time to break out this video, it may help some others as well. Perfect. Thanks. :-)
sys88 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 UCSF waitlisted:/ I don't know what to think right now. Is there anything I can or should do to push my application further?
DirtyLabCoat Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I'm pretty sure Stanford won't start sending interviews until mid January, so don't lose hope! I am putting my faith in Stanford...
Orims Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I am putting my faith in Stanford... Based on last year's results, Stanford won't start sending invites until next week! Next week will either be hellish or great. I am starting to dislike weekends...
sciguy Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I mean I don't think anyone will say that rejections are a good thing, but clearly good schools are interested in you. You never know what they are looking for! Don't assume anything! Is it fair to assume UCSF + Weill Cornell rejections likely means a Stanford rejection also, or is there still hope? :/
ERR_Alpha Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Apologies on the rejections guys I still haven't heard anything... Next week should be interesting.
No Coffee Plz Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Last year's records seem to indicate that Stanford Biosciences send out interviews via email throughout second week of January. Exact date seem to differ per individual department. Only biophysics seem to send out interview offers via snail mail.
musicalscientist Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Does anyone know if the UCSF BMS rejections are separate from the iPQB program? UCSF's organization confuses me.
