Rejection thread

I've applied to 7 terminal MA programs. I just heard back from the first one, Georgia State University: Rejected. 

 

Pretty bummed about this. I was under the impression that GSU's program would be one of the less difficult to get into, being that they had 23 spots open. 

A friend of mine just got rejected there, he's pretty heartbroken, it was his 'safety school'.

Do we only have one known rejection from the University of Tennessee?  And has anybody claimed it?

I'm sorry to hear that. Honestly, I feel like things are totally up in the air. It's a guessing game the whole way through, and I doubt anyone can really have a safety school.

Georgia State is probably one of the more difficult MA programs to get into, from what I understand. Hang in there.

I considered Georgia State a perfect fit. Pretty destroyed over this.

Claiming the Georgetown rejection. It was definitely a top choice for me Congrats to the admits, though.

also rejected at Georgetown - I saw the others and decided to check the website (i.e. i've yet to get an email). Bummed but not terribly so; I would've loved to work with Pinkard and Ver Eecke.

Also got a UCSD rejection. Form email from grad adminsitration.

 

It was one of the few schools I thought might be a better fit than Riverside, but oh well. I guess I can always get Bill  Bechtel to be my external committee member.

Just got an email to check the website at Yale. REJECTED! OMG SO EXCITED.

Yale's considerate rejection letter: "We could have wasted a stamp on you, but email allows us to reject you so much faster. Hope you don't mind."

 

I actually lol'ed, but yeah, please don't send me a hard copy as well.
