To φ or not to φ Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Seems like Wisconsin Madison has begun to send out its waitlist offers (see TGC Results page)...
eigenname Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Meanwhile, still in purgatory for WUSTL without a rejection nor acceptance, and this is my last 'hope'. I suppose they changed their wait-list policy since they didn't sent out wait-list emails like last year? If anyone is planning to drop WUSTL please do so asap to save me from eternal waiting

majorshake Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Waitlisted at JHU, it's the only place I'd heard back from in any way, and I've heard from everywhere else. Pretty close to taking myself off the waitlist though, I've got another prospect that will likely be better for me and my family in the long run. If I do, it'll prob be at the end of week after next (need to have a meeting about my PhD proposal first).
matchamatcha Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Does anyone know if Western Ontario has sent out waitlists yet?
Schopenhauerfanboy Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 22 minutes ago, matchamatcha said: Does anyone know if Western Ontario has sent out waitlists yet? Could be wrong, but I think they sent out more offers than they anticipate being accepted. So several people would have to turn down offers before they started appealing to backups. That was the impression I got from talking to them..

Swann Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 It doesn't look like Stanford has sent any WL notification yet... I wonder if they'll be sending those out today.

I wish I had more information for you. 753982 and Witsclaw 2

I don't imagine it's likely that I was one of their better applicants, but for some reason I'm still holding on to my last bit of hope. If they continue last year's timeline rejections may go out on Thursday.
Dialectica Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 Have there been any reports—on the forum, FB, or elsewhere—of Riverside waitlists?
Naruto Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Waitlisted at UMass Amherst! "I am happy to report that you are on our waiting list, and that, given past history, I think that there is a reasonable chance that you will receive a fellowship offer from us with full funding." I'll take it! This is one of my top-choice schools! Kingoftherats, Ibycus, Tecumseh Valley and 1 other 4

Dialectica Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Anyone have any idea what's taking Austin so long to waitlist? Have they already started and I'm just a loser?

Austin is driving me crazy. Why did they reject that one person a week ago? Are they going to waitlist more people? Secret waitlist? Someone mentioned on the FB group a past Austin admission on April 16th, lol.

I'm assuming that was just the first wave of rejections that went out (USC has done something like that in the past, usually alphabetically, but not so spread out). You say "...waitlist more people..."—have they started? I haven't seen anything indicating that. But, please correct me if I'm wrong. And I think they are almost guaranteed to have a hidden waitlist. They've operated that way for a few years now.

I live in Austin and it's my first choice, so I hope they don't make me suffer in uncertainty for another month....

I would think they will release their decisions pretty soon. They are already quite late as it is, relative to their release dates in the past few years. Ibycus 1
Nichi Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 If all the schools with secret waitlists could go ahead and send out emails letting people know if they're on such a list, that would be fantastic. Ibycus, Witsclaw, matchamatcha and 3 others 6

RumHaven Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 (edited) Has anyone else been waitlisted at Princeton? I've searched through the results and seen only acceptances and rejections, plus there was a result from last year stating Princeton does not waitlist people. For anyone interested, since this is my first post, full results: Rejected - Yale, Harvard, UCLA, Arizona, Michigan Waitlisted - USC, Princeton Accepted - Oxford BPhil (but I hear the funding situation is quite bad, and it's far too expensive to do unfunded...) Haven't heard (presumably rejected) - UNC Chapel Hill, Rutgers, NYU, Berkeley, Stanford Edit: Just realized you guys have been putting this info in your signatures, I didn't see any of that before I made an account.
