@Boxedwine actually my interview is Friday, thought it was Thurs. Going up tonight with my friend so I can  spend the day exploring New Haven a bit before the Welcome Party. THANKS FOR THE ANNE TIP!!! She was added at the end. Sneaky.

And I'm with you vis a vis the politics of an all male cohort, although I would hope they would create a density of inclusion in that formulation if that were the route they are exploring but again these are the mumblings of a mad person doing shady mathematical equations.

@jamesprongs101

Hahaha. I'm currently on the longest shuttle ride of my life. I'm gonna be late to the meet and greet which is driving me crazy.

If you're down to force some socialization, I'd meet up when you and your buddy get in.  If it's not too late, that is. But no worries either way.

Good luck on your interview and exploration!

I can't imagine that they would choose an all male cohort in the age of Kilroys and The Count and everything that's been going on. That said, I identify mostly male and certainly present male so who knows... Also, I feel like if they have had a class that's all female, they can't possibly care too obsessively about balance, so the idea of them rebalancing the other way seems weird. I really really want to get in, but I would hate to think I'm taking a more qualified woman's spot.

Also, did you both get the email from James Bundy? That seemed super weird and out of the blue.

Damn @Boxedwine we will get in at like 1:30, so I doubt we will see each other.

And yeah @The Walter Before the email was weird, I had heard from a Yale friend a while ago and thought they were just going to gracefully mention it at the interview but...idk. Excited that someone who's read and liked our plays works at the Public now though. That's good.

Got the brown rejection! Not surprised, but I was hoping for a less formulaic letter. Good luck, everyone!

That letter from Brown was disappointing considering what people said had happened previous years.

My interview at Yale was fun. They said they'd make decisions next week. Ten people are interviewing. Nail biting has commenced.

Still waiting to hear from Iowa.

I haven't heard anything from Brooklyn, Ohio, Rutgers (but just submitted Tues.), or Juilliard (obvi). Waiting for word from NYU post-interview, and CMU, after they requested a second script.

Such limbo. Anyone have tips on how not to check email every fifteen minutes?

Hey friends!

I only applied to Yale, UCSD, and UT Austin (both Michener and Theater & Dance). I'm assuming, since interviews for all three seemed to have already taken place, that I didn't get in. But I haven't gotten a rejection from anyone except Michener yet.

Is that normal? Anyone else in the same boat?

Congrats to all who've had success! My fingers are crossed for you!

Hi SpineOfTheSnowman,

I'm in the same boat with not hearing back from Yale or UT Austin, but both are almost certainly rejections.  I know Yale interviews everyone who is a finalist and the interviews are happening this week.  I believe Austin follows a similar protocol and interviewees have already been contacted according to this forum.

Best wishes to you and remember most people apply multiple years before they get in!

I also had a really great time at Yale. Really happy about how my interview went so now it's just time to wait I guess. Crossing fingers for everyone else who was there.

The only thing I can say about ways to not check emails @newengland1 is find a new show to watch (I recommend Sense8 or Utopia [UK]) or find some great porn...? Idk.

All I know about Brooklyn is that two weeks ago when I saw the new Clare Barron show Mac Wellman was sitting beside me and I accosted him. He told me they were only about halfway through reading.  Hope that helps alleviate some stress. Thought I had mentioned it but maybe i didn't.
