  1. I have a strong feeling that the rest of us won't hear back until next week (similar to last year).
  2. I'm not sure if its true or not. Maybe they were contacting about the competitive funding? The results search indicated that last year, 1 person heard back a week earlier than everyone else? I'm not sure but I'm grappling with huge anxiety over this?
  3. Someone just posted hearing from chapel hill via phone today...
  4. 8 days left in February!

i can't tell if this makes me more excited than nervous, or the other way around!

Good thing! We will all find out sooner or later :)

  5. That sounds so competitive. I'm actually surprised.
  6. I am not going to make it. Continue on without me...
  7. Did you feel as though the interview went well? Sometimes a really positive interview can help with negative factors (i.e. poor grades).
  8. Unless you applied early decision to Towson, you won't be hearing back until early-mid March. They are notifying early decision applications by 2/28.
  9. Sounds like a New Yorker?
  10. It sounds very similar to other institutions. Though when I had looked at EdFind previously, it said USC admitted something like 38% of applicants. So I wasn't sure if it was feasible, or impossible.
  11. Does anyone know how competitive South Carolina's program actually is?
  12. winter olympics
  13. I thought I was going crazy before, but now I KNOW I am. A school with a later deadline than mine is already reporting back... do they want me to lose it?
  14. If you're really that unsure, I would ask. I thought my entire application to one school was complete. I had sent a recommendation letter via USPS back in November because the recommender did not want to use the online system. I called last week to see why it hadn't matched up with my application yet, as I applied in early January (the deadline was Feb. 1). Turns out, they had put it into a file for people who send some materials, but never actually apply. If I had not called, I am not sure this would have come to my attention. It never hurts to be a little paranoid (but only a little). Good luck.
  15. I almost feel like it depends on the program and nature of the clinic. I know my undergrad institution has more relaxed rules when it comes to clinical attire, but another poster described a more strict dress code at her school.
  16. nose job
  17. This is true, but most of my schools didn't start notifying until the end of February/early March. It sucks, I know. Have you checked the results page for when your schools typically notify? Also, as an aside, it's possible that some of your schools in the NY/MA area are slightly delayed due to the blizzard. Everything was shut down for awhile.
  18. My University is still open I think it varies by location.
  19. I can't even imagine the stress of applying to 11 schools...
  20. My undergrad institution uses an A-, just not an A+. It's really irritating.
  21. Luckily my workload has picked up, so I haven't had as much free time to stalk my online apps.
  22. No worries. I currently live in the MD/DC area and the cost of living + school is just too high. Plus, I haven't heard the greatest things about the program.
  23. On top of what I said before, I am very interested in working with deaf/hard of hearing/cochlear implant patients. I applied to programs where I felt it would be likely that I would work with my desired population.
  24. Because it is likely I wouldn't be accepted there. I did not want to move to Iowa, especially since I have a boyfriend who is coming with me (what exactly would he do in Iowa?). I did not want to be so far away from my family. Plus, there are a lot of great programs that aren't "ranked" as #1. Ranking is important (kind of), but is it the deciding factor? Not for me.
  25. Speaking of false admissions... I transferred to my undergrad institution from another. I was accepted about 2 weeks after applying, and sent in my enrollment contract the day I received it. About 2 week later, I received an email saying they accidentally accepted too many people and did not have room for us (before they even knew the classes I would be taking). I had already signed a lease on an apartment, and begun withdrawing from classes I had previously enrolled in. Needless to say, I was completely devastated. I had to deal with this school for weeks trying to sort it out. Because they had put me in such a terrible position, they "made an exception" and allowed me to come. It was truly horrifying.
