  1. You're not alone, SLPamy. I was 100% sure before I received my last offer, and now I'm about 99% sure. I'm glad they both offered to host me for a visit to aid with making a final decision because otherwise...I'd be more of a wreck than I am now, which is hard to believe. I just want this to be over.
  2. I'm so happy for you guys, I could slap someone in the face. Congrats to you both!!!
  3. I have a craving for cigarettes... ...and I don't even smoke.
  4. "Are you STILL in school???" "Why would you apply to schools so far away, (enter sarcastic voice) so you can be alone?" Actually, I'm alone here. If you were a real friend, you'd know that already. "I've accepted that I should just enjoy the grandchildren I already have. I finally realize that I won't be getting any from you." No, the fear of passing on any genes from this family is why you won't be getting any grandchildren from me. "Canada? What's in Canada?" Well, let's see...only one of the best schools in the WORLD, in one of the coolest cities in the world. "You're going to freeze to death."

  6. Fairy, this is AWESOME advice. Thank you so much for sharing. I thought the anxiety of this process would end with getting accepted...false. The consideration of Dream vs. Funding vs. Fit, and worrying that the three may not align, is giving me palpitations.
  7. Hi Esselpy! Thanks! Yes, I applied to McGill, too. I hope you, kk, and everyone else waiting hear something soon. Congrats on your UQTR acceptance!
  8. lol I totally understand. It's going to feel unreal for quite some time, which makes it extra awesome. It's no dream...YOU DID IT!!!
  9. I'm sooooooo happy for you!!! What a great accomplishment and a great feeling to get accepted into your dream school. Celebrate. Read your acceptance letter 45 times. Print 3 copies and read those 45 times. Have a drink (or 4). Smile until your face hurts. Call everyone you know and let them scream for joy with you. This is def one of those once-in-a-lifetime moments you'll always remember. Enjoy this!!!
  10. I'm pretty sure I've developed a drinking problem, a nervous twitch, and an ulcer from this process.
  11. So jealous that you're done. I don't even care about the likely rejections I'll be receiving from my last two schools...I just want to hurry up and get the rejections so I can close the door on all this application madness and get on with my life.
  12. Technical School
  13. Agreed! TGIAO (Thank God It's Almost Over)
  14. Not sure about Loyola, but Towson usually issues their decisions before spring break, which this year, is 3/16-3/23.
  15. Hahaha! Girl yesssssss! UofA offered me an insanely generous funding package and I plan to make my decision as soon as I receive McGill's funding package next week, but my awesome locks have already voted for some moist east coast air.
  16. Congrats, Kbell! You're on a roll with your acceptances...that's awesome!
  17. Thanks, Nixie! That's the nicest thing anyone has said to me in like, 7 years lol McGill, huh? Hmmm...perhaps . I haven't responded to any offers yet.
  18. You've already been admitted...you can wear a trash bag and a beanie with a propeller on top if you want.
  19. Just think...in about 3 weeks, this will all be over...and thank God for that! My nerves cant take much more of this. I think we should all "meet" here on April 1st and have a drink "together."
  20. lol LD that was hilarious! And thanks! I'm sure I'll have a dream soon that all of my schools made a mistake and rescinded their offers lol
  21. I got my third acceptance (I'm still in shock from the first one) while I was at home watching Law and Order aka The Crack of TV Shows. My room was a mess because I had just started preparing for the eventual move next month to the city of "wherever I decide to go to grad school" when my phone beeped with an email from the graduate school director.
  22. The end of May??? That's just cruel.
  23. I so look forward to sleep these days. Not because I'm sleep-deprived and bordering on utter lunacy from this entire process, but because I'm excited to "see" what crazy dreams my tortured mind will create next.

Same here, Coffee...I hear the summers there are fantastic. I just really want to be settled before school starts. I can't think clearly if my surroundings are out of order. Starting a doctoral program, at a new school, in a new Country, is stressful enough without having to worry about finding a place to live, furnishing it, and acquiring a second language all at the same time. I want to have a little time to take it all in and enjoy it all.
