  2. Y'all have been so helpful! I believe I am going to have my questions written down and take notes. Any others and your experience?
  3. Thank you!! And good luck to you too!
  4. Yeah, it is 1.5hrs away from where I live so it's not too bad. Just hang in there, I am sure everything will work out perfectly for you!
  5. Haha, I know. There for a while, I was thinking I was the only one who wanted to go into School Psyc. I applied to a couple of schools in North Texas. The only reason I am not giving the names of the schools is b/c I know that some of the professors at the schools I applied to are members here. I have an interview on the 2/26 though. YAY...and it's my top school! Let the sleepless nights until the interview begin!
  6. This is just the funniest thread ever! I love it!
  7. One of my deadlines for a Specialist program was 2/1 and I have an interview for it on 2/26.
  8. I have applied to a couple here in North Texas. There are not that many schools within the state that only offer the Specialist degree, which is what I am going for. I have an interview in two weeks at my top choice school and I am sooo excited/nervous!

  11. Hey y'all, I am trying to prepare questions that I want to ask for an interview I have in two weeks. I was wondering if it would be appropriate to have my questions on an index card to ask or if it would be better to have them memorized. I figure the latter of the two but sometimes when I talk in a nerve-racking situation like that my mouth goes really dry and it would be nice to have it written out in front of me so I don't stutter. Lol. Thank you in advance!

  13. Omg! Good tip!! Thanks!
  14. I agree 100%.
  15. When I spoke to the director of my top program, she informed me that they look and consider every applicant. That relieves me b/c if they had a screening system with GRE scores, I'm sure I would be out before they would get a chance to see the rest of my awesome application!
  16. Oh Wow! That's great, congrats! I wish you all the luck on your interviews!!
  17. Wow, that is a tough situation. I'm sure if I had been in that situation, I would have thought constantly about the fact that it could have been me that was killed. My inner Psychologist wants to know if you have ever talked to someone about this. But that's personal, so I not really looking for an answer. That kind of stuff can weigh heavy on the mind. I don't want my paranoia to spread to others who read my post.
  18. I am this way as well. I am not worried as much about the schools getting online and figuring out is was me that was talking about them, I am more worried about murderers tracking me down on the internet and killing me in my sleep . Although I'm quite sure no one on this forum gives a hoot as to who I am, I have just always been that super careful person about giving too much info out on the internet. I don't even have myspace or facebook and that makes for awkward conversions when people at school are like: "Facebook me" and I always have to say: "I don't have facebook." Then they say: "Myspace?" Then I have to say: "Nope." and have to deal with the shocked faces that look at me as if I'm from another world. So in sum, I'm just afraid that somehow by me telling the exact schools I am applying to or currently going to, I'm going to be tracked down. Disclaimer: I am by no means saying that I am afraid of the people on the grad cafe...if I were, I would not post as much, or any, as I do. I really trust this site.
  19. My statements had to be 500 words or less as well. I didn't want to take any chances though and my applications came out to exactly 499 and 500 words. It was sooooo hard cutting them down!
  20. This was very interesting information, thanks for sharing Lauren!
  21. My applications are crying right now b/c the admissions committees are not paying any attention to them.
  22. I read a book titled Tell No One recently and I really enjoyed it. I have read so many books in this month that I have been out for vacation and I love it!!
  23. I couldn't help but laugh! I love me some Oprah!
  24. I haven't heard anything yet either! And it's driving me nuts...why can't they at least just post that they had received my stuff?!?!
  25. This is soooo weird...I had this a while back and didn't even know it was a condition! I would feel certain sensations and then see numbers. Each number had a certain color and shape to it. For example, every time I was touched on the knee, I would see a neon green 7 that was super long, skinny, and scribbly. And when I was touched on the back, a chubby orange 9 came to mind. When I read these posts, I did some research on the term synesthesia. From things that I read, it seems that most people who have this condition have had it since they were little and still have it when they are older. For me, I started having when I was 20 and had it for like 6 months and now it is gone. I wonder why I got it so late and only had it for a short time. I thought I was going crazy when I started seeing the numbers and had only told my fiancé about it. I was annoyed with it at the time because it was highly distracting, but now that I know it is a real condition, I wish I still had it.
