If you read my thread, you will understand when I say I nearly threw up when I read the part about your wrists.

I'm going for a Specialist degree which is in-between a Master's and a Doctorate degree. I will have just turned 22 about a week before classes begin if I get in. I am coming straight out of undergrad.

Ditto! I have been reading these forums for quite a while now and I must say that it is the best forum I have ever been to, including forums not pertaining to the academics. I must have missed something along the way though. Let's all just stay nice and supportive of everyone b/c I don't want to see the Grad Cafe taken away from all of us! I The Grad Cafe!!

I am deathly afraid of wrists and ice cream men! No joke! I know this sounds weird, but it is very true. When I was little, I watched the movie The Ice Cream Man and every since then, I have been horrified of ice cream men. Luckily, I live in the country and there is no ice cream trucks driving around with that creepy music playing. Once while at a public pool swimming, an ice cream truck pulled up. Needless to say, I'm pretty sure I broke some sort of record for holding my breath under water. My fear of wrist is 1,000,000 times worse, however! My wrist are small and I can see the blue veins and that really freaks me out! I am afraid of accidentally cutting myself and dying. My friends back in high school knew about this and were always pretending to cut themselves and I would always gag and get real light headed. If I see something gross in a movie, my wrist and arms begin going numb and I get real weak. When I wear a watch and bracelets, I keep them pushed up on my arm so they don't touch my wrist and when I wear clothes with long sleeves, I make sure the sleeve goes past my hand in length. I don't like people talking about wrist or touching mine. I don't know how I got this way, but just typing this stuff makes me feel nauseous.

I took the General GRE twice and didn't have to take the subject. My scores still were'nt at the preferred mark, but when I talked to the director of my top program, she told me that some of their best students hadn't meet the preferred mark. Plus, I excelled at everything else in my application. She told me to just mention my GRE in my cover letter and that I was under emotional distress at the time, and if I get called for an interview, I could discuss the GRE with them. She really calmed my nerves when I talked to her about it b/c I HATE the GRE and didn't want to take it again!

My mom and fiance'. My dad passed away in November, so in a way, he will know first.

I can't believe that. I tell ya, all the GRE/ETS is is just one BIG SCAM!!!!!!!!!!

I'm like using the chat! I also like the shoutbox idea. I am in the Central Time Zone. I am pretty much available any time as of now, but once schools starts again on the 19th, who knows.

I don't really have an answer for you but I am wondering the same thing! I really hope they start meeting soon!

My application dealines start in Feb and go through March, so I'm not expecting to hear back this month. However, I did turn my stuff in early, so maybe I will...no way of knowing. Good luck to everyone who is supposed to hear back this month!!

I'm engaged and hopefully starting grad school in the fall of '10. We haven't set a date yet b/c we are waiting to find out my grad school destiny. I will get back to you when we decide what we are going to do. But don't hold your breath, lol.

Howdy. This question is the sorta the opposite of 90sNickelodeon's question. So, if you woke up one morning and decided to start your whole academic career over and go into another field, what would it be and why? Please include your current field. Example (me): I am currently applying to School Psychology programs. If I woke up one morning and decided to do it all over again, I think going into Dentistry or Dermatology would be fun! Why: B/c I love picking at things...gross, I know.

Undergrad: Psychology Grad: School Psychology Why: B/c I have always LOVED school and want to stay in school forever. I have always been intrigued by psychology as well and want to help students who hate school succeed.

LOL! That is a great nightmare! Well, I guess it is great for us readers and not so much you. I haven't had any nightmares like yours, but I have been having some very unusual dreams. I remember my last 3 dreams very vividly and they are all very weird...some I wish I could forget!
