I hadn't thought of that, but it makes sense. Not every school has the resources to field hundreds of calls/emails from rejected/accepted applicants. One of the schools I applied to just sent a ton of rejections(via results page), so now I know not to get my hopes up.

It can get especially confusing with the California State University school system, since some schools are "California State University [city name]" and others go by "[city name] State University". For example: Cal State Northridge and San Jose State University (CSUN and SJSU) are both in the CSU (California State University) school system.

I bet they haven't even noticed yet. I submitted an application over a month ago and only last week they registered my scores as "received", even though they were sent weeks ago. This seems like a common problem!

This happened earlier this year, for people who applied to MIT's Dept of Materials Sci & Engineering program. Look at the results page from last month. The article doesn't specify the program, but the article could be talking about that incident.

How often are MS/MA degrees funded? I'm under the impression it's fairly rare, unless the applicant is exceptional and qualifies for merit scholarships.

The refresh(F5) button on my computer feels very loved. The other keys, however, are feeling left out.

Some tips for SF Peninsula living: Avoid East Palo Alto. Be careful with Redwood City, especially if it is east of El Camino Real - some neighborhoods are fine, but other neighborhoods are unsafe.

It's not East Coast, but California State schools might still be accepting applications (if I decide to apply to a California State school, the deadline for some programs is April 1st).

I'm an American; I love football, and I loved that commercial. Optimistically, I think people who made a stink about that commercial are the kinds of people who love to start drama, rather than expressing sincere xenophobia. They probably didn't think long and hard about their opinion before posting it on their social media outlet obsession, just wanted an excuse to start internet flame wars.

Hey everyone, MS&E applicant checking in. Has anyone here applied to UC Davis's Chemical and Materials Sci Eng. department? If so, has your application status changed on their website? Mine still shows that all my materials have been received (transcripts, GRE scores, etc), but no indication if my application has been sent to the adcom for review and a decision.

I did. Has anyone here applied to UC Davis? Their application status link tells me they have received all my materials (LORs, GRE, transcripts) but the status hasn't changed to "your application has been submitted to the Admissions Committee for review" or anything like that. Wanted to see if anyone else is in the same boat.

My email tab is open all day long and I keep refreshing the Results page... I think I need to go on a GradCafe hiatus. I love you all, but I need sanity.
