I haven't heard from them yet. I saw several people reporting on the results page of acceptances. I hope we get something from them soon.

I know some grad schools require that you get 25 observation hours done before you start your program. I took a course back in Spring 2015 that met those requirements and you have to get your certificate with your hours signed and approved. I forgot to pick up said certificate, but have a copy of it, so I am thinking of going back to my undergraduate program and getting it signed. However, who do I ask to get it signed? Do I ask the instructor of the course or do I ask the head of the department? I know it's late and nearly a year since I completed those hours, but I didn't realize about it until just recently.

Waiting like you are. Wish they would at least contact us and give us a heads up of when to expect replies as other school do.

SLP California Applicants Fall 2016
kumapanda replied to SLPBethany's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
I'm very grateful that Radford accepted me. We'll see if another school accepts me, but until then, Radford is my decision. My overall gpa was 3.56 and my slp gpa was roughly the same as that. I did average on my gre with 151 Verbal, 155 Quantitative, and a 4.0 for Analytical Writing. From what I heard among classmates, CSUs are competitive and get a lot of applicants every year when their cohorts have somewhere between 15 to 30 students on average. Although in all fairness, I think California schools are very competitive in general because of how popular they are. I'm think the same can be said about schools located in more populous states (Washington, New York, etc.). I wouldn't apply to only CSUs if you don't feel confident about your stats. I applied to those schools in my signature because I did my research and I was interested in all of their programs and their average scores were within my range. I only applied to two CSUs because they're close to where I live and I know that CSULB tends to favor their undergraduates (went there for undergrad). I'm not sure how it works for other CSUs, but it'll be hard to get in for sure. You can always use asha's website to compare your scores with theirs and use your judgement on where you want to apply to. -
SLP California Applicants Fall 2016

That's what I've been assuming for awhile now since most people who did get interviewed by them was back in February. -
I'll be posting this here for Radford in case anyone didn't get the link from the school itself: https://www.facebook.com/groups/168304830222688/ Message me if the link doesn't work for you.

What schools are you waiting to hear from?
kumapanda replied to slptobe92's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Is anyone still waiting on CSULB or Chapman? No answer from Chapman despite getting interviewed. -
SLP California Applicants Fall 2016

I recalled a few people saying they were accepted a bit back, but no responses to the rest of the applicants? I checked the website every day but still nothing. I called them too, but they said we would get responses in a few weeks (this was 2-3 weeks ago). -
I'm also waiting for Redlands and Chapman. I had an interview with Chapman a month ago, but since I haven't heard from the in weeks, I have a feeling it's a reject. Redlands usually replies back on the last week of March if the last few cycles were anything to go by. Still waiting for reply from CSULB, but I'm not feeling too positive on that one (no interview).

Still waiting for CSULB, Chapman, Redlands, and Loyola. I'm expecting Redlands and Loyola to respond back by the end of March, but I have no idea what to expect from Chapman or CSULB. -
Chapman Univeristy Grad Program
kumapanda replied to HopefulSLP123's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
I went to Chapman's orientation last year, so I can tell you what I learned. They don't have an on campus clinic, but you get externships around the area. Most of the classes are in the evenings and they guarantee that you complete the program in two years. If you fail to get grades above a B, they make you retake it until you get a B or higher. -
Got waitlisted for third tier at PSU. Should I bother staying on the waitlist since the email itself said that third tiers rarely get in?
-
I knew it wasn't good when MSU didn't send me anything until the 15th. Waitlisted through portal. Debating if I should drop from the waitlist since I already got into a program.
-
Congrats! I'm so happy to hear that! I bet you must be relieved after all that waiting.
-
This waiting game is killing me. I still have 6 schools to wait for and half of them already sent letters to some of their applicants. Does anyone know when we'll be getting another wave of emails from Chapman, CSULB, or MSU?
-
No, I understand. It's not just you. I came from a diverse undergrad program, but I recently realized that I may be the only Asian student in my grad cohort. I'm nervous like you are, but I think we'll all be fine if we came this far to get accepted into programs.

Some people got replies from MSU on the 10th. Can we expect to get more this week? Nervous because I didn't get an email telling me to check the portal (nothing changed). Could this be a bad sign? -
Got wait-listed from UNCO. Email said they won't rank their "alternate admissions" until after April 15, which seems to be a common deadline to accept invitations from other schools.

Hi there! I'm really interested in knowing more about this. Would you be able to be more specific about the program and its flaws? PSU is my top choice, primarily because of location but also because their research on the intersection of culture and SLP is incredibly interesting to me. I've talked to a few others in the post-bacc program who don't love it, but haven't really heard from any grad students about that program and have hoped that it is a more positive experience. I went to PSU for undergrad and loved it, but my department was small (Black Studies) and I felt very connected/supported. I'm also interested in learning more about the program as PSU. Can you elaborate on your impressions of the program? I chose PSU because their research looked promising and I liked the various options given for therapy treatment, but I would love to hear more about it from you since you're already attending the school. If you're uncomfortable writing it on the thread, you can private message me?

For those who got in~ Any tips on how to get in?
kumapanda replied to SLP4lyfe's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
You already submitted your applications and even landed an interview (congrats!). I wouldn't think about reapplying too soon when you're still waiting for replies. Relax and wait for the schools to respond back before considering reapplying. As @Jolie717 said, there isn't enough information about your background to properly know where to start in terms of giving advice, but it sounds like you're doing the right thing if SFSU shows interest in you. Hopefully you'll get into a program somewhere! -
You too? I get so scared when I reread my acceptance letter because I'm scared of accidentally deleting it or declining acceptance.
-
I remembered reading a case 1-2 cycles ago of someone getting an email from a school accepting them, only to find out a bit later that it was a mistake. I hope that doesn't happen to anyone.
-
Congrats to those who got into their respective programs! Are any of you already making decisions, or waiting for the rest to respond back? Waiting for emails, but not wanting to contact them in fear of sounding impatient.

That's good to hear! I'm waiting for Michigan State too! I'm also waiting for Loyola Maryland, UNCO, PSU, Chapman, Redlands, and CSULB. I probably got rejected by CSULB because I wasn't interviewed, but having a letter from them would be nice to make it official. Not sure how I did for Chapman.
