Has anyone gotten an interview confirmation from Emerson yet? I know everything's probably just fine but it came a bit earlier last year so I was just curious -
If you have an interview a time should be listed in your credentials. As far as I can tell they interview about 1/4-1/3 of applicants
-
I got it too! Just responded!
-
I did Syracuse interviews last year and they were super chill! Definitely not a lot to worry about. Just like 15 minutes on the phone with a faculty member talking about your background etc.
-
Their website says they "strongly prefer" in person but that you can do skype if you're unable to travel there

Just got my notification too! -
Emerson definitely only accepts people that interview. They've been doing interviews for three years now. Not getting an interview essentially means not getting accepted, although frustratingly they won't officially tell you that until the normal time (around mid-March). But yeah. You have to do an in-person or skype interview in order to considered for admission.
-
As far as I can tell they interview a portion of candidates, and then about 1/4-1/3 of those are accepted! You can't get accepted without getting an interview so it's a step in the right direction!
-
That is exactly what I did too! haha

Got my notification about interviewing for Emerson on the 4th! I'm going in person on the 27th I also interviewed last year, and I can back up what the other poster said. You wait in a room with other interview candidates until your turn, then get taken to a room with 2 faculty members. You get about 15 minutes with them and they ask you three questions. Make sure you think of one good question cause you'll only have time for one. I also just found out yesterday that I got an interview at the University of Akron! -
Has anybody been notified yet? I remember last year I was notified around the 9th and their website says "during the first week of February" so the anxiety is setting in a little bit haha

It was mostly the financial strain. To break it down: Edinboro was a no simply because of the location. It's in the complete middle of nowhere and I was not willing to spend 3 years there. NAU is a good program, but as an out of state program the cost was too much when considering the overall quality of the program. And Syracuse I really did like, but after receiving absolutely no financial aid from them (besides federal loans) it became clear that that was not an option either. Therefore, I've decided to complete the post-bacc program at Pitt and try my applications again.

I've been accepted to the post-bacc program at Pitt and I'm planning on attending! I'm excited
-
So is anyone else planning on remaining on the waitlist after the 15th?
