School: Immaculata University
Type: Clinical PsyD
Date of invite: 01/22/2019
Type of invite: Email from dean of graduate studies - not a mass email, I emailed to follow up and she asked which interview date I wanted. She said she will begin emailing everyone starting tomorrow. Yay! Interview dates are 2/25, 2/26, or 2/27.- xxxxxxxxxx and aer621

Same, but for Yeshiva's Adult Clinical PsyD program. It's been crickets over there!

My friend was contacted last week from a Clinical professor and did a preliminary phone interview this morning! I think everyone is just getting around to doing that at Harvard.
Yeah, and Harvard also lets their POIs take full charge of the interview process. So some will reach out sooner than others, etc. There's no admissions committee, so to speak.

Just called Drexel, they have not sent out their official interview email yet. Someone called me I think on Jan 9th inviting me to interview on POI's behalf and told me to look out for official email. Called to make sure I haven't missed it! Interview dates are on the 8th and 11th.
Whaaaaat. MAYBE THERE'S STILL HOPE?!
I'm crossing my fingers so hard right now.

Mercer poster on the results page, was this a mass email?

Boston got a really bad snowstorm this past week, so that might have put a delay into some of their operations. Are you asking about Clinical or Counseling? I have a mentor who works in Counseling that I'm happy to ask about interviews status if anyone applied there.

Another day, another empty inbox. Going crazy here.

Especially when you have a partner, who also has a career... and so you're juggling/considering a million things at once, because any decision directly impacts his/her career.
I TOO AM SO MF EMOTIONALLY DRAINED, let me wrap up these interviews lord I can't have anxieties in so many directions at once lmfao ?
Oh lordy. My partner is going into his last year of postbacc studies for med school (his undergrad was in a liberal arts area). So he'll be applying next fall. We have absolutely no idea how we're going to work out that geographical puzzle. He said he would try to apply to schools near where I get in, but med school is just as much of a crapshoot so I'm encouraging him to apply broadly even if it means long distance for several years. Ugh.

Sorry for the slightly off-topic post, but I feel like all the different kinds of anticipation I have been carrying around with me and the stress about schools, moving, etc. has been a lot.
I can really resonate with that. Our lease is up in April and I'm not sure whether I should be looking at month-to-month, sublets, etc. and where, because it is possible I would have to leave in August if I get into a program. I also graduate from my masters program in May, and I'm wondering how I should spend the summer. I'm interviewing for part time jobs right now but I feel shitty that I might need to leave them in a few months, and... yeah. I guess I'm just uncomfortable with the state of not knowing where I'm going to be physically located and where I'll need to try to put roots down. It's like I'm in limbo and I hate being in a constant state of transition.

Ha I actually am an RA already. It's frustrating because I already had a ton of experience as an undergrad, but only got 1 interview (at a top program) so I did another 1.5 years full time. I have publications, I have posters. I've beyond shown I can do the work. I just need someone to give me a shot -- but it's way easier to hire an engineer who took a few psych classes for fun or someone who has a huge list of prestigious awards/opportunities or the right connections.
Damn if this isn't a mood. The connections are everything in this game, and as someone who didn't do psych undergrad and also applied for schools out of state and in a different concentration area than my masters, I feel like I don't know ANYONE to vouch for me on a personal level. It sucks. I purposefully applied to more PsyD and less-research-based PhD programs so that my clinical experience could shine more on its own, but research connections are still so important.

I'm letting every. single. program. know they are incredible/amazing/my top choice (without really explicitly using the word "top choice"). Periodt. I'll have already spent $300-$400, per interview, at the end of this whole damn process.
I tell my programs they are "one of my top choices" so I'm not explicitly lying

Any opinions on a business formal dress versus and skirt suit? The dress in question is dark navy, 3/4 sleeves and made out of suiting material. Something I think you could wear in a boardroom. There’s just no blazer/jacket.
I personally wore business/office dresses to all my interviews because I move and act much more relaxed/natural in it vs. a suit. I know it's frowned upon by some sticklers, but if the program is going to ding me over something this petty, it's probably not a program I want to be in. I much prefer feeling confident about myself to tugging awkwardly on my suit and being visibly uncomfortable.

I expect that practically all interview invites from the schools on my radar will be out within the coming two weeks. Moment of truth...
Oh, I guess the interviews have to go well, too. Haha...
Same here. Most of my schools have traditionally notified in the last week of January. I'm excited and terrified all at once.

I told my top choice school point blank that it was my top choice when they asked, "Why do you want to attend this program?" And obviously explained why.

I didn't get one either I'm very upset about this one!
I'm hoping the invites are just coming in waves! Last year 70 applied and 15 got in, which probably means they invited more than 15 to interview, so odds are not horrible. This program's high on my list because if you get an assistantship, they're a fully funded PsyD (!!!) There's also adjunct teaching opps for folks with a masters degree (I think I remember reading that you're currently finishing up a masters program?) Crossing my fingers for us both!

For those of you who have had interviews already: How's the wait at the airports??? TSA check points??? Anyone experience any problems??
Just booked my 5th roundtrip, have 2 more to book (but waiting to do so because I'm broke LOL), and I'm very worried about the gov. shutdown and waiting times at the airport!!!!!
I have not experienced anything out of the ordinary at airports. Actually, I was able to get through much faster than usual this past weekend O___o

I received an official offer to interview at Cornell! Each PI got to select one person to be invited to interview weekend.
Wow, that's a really competitive interview selection process. Congrats!

Any updates on Rutgers PsyD (adult) and Immaculata PsyD? I saw one invite each on the spreadsheet, was it mass email?
-
Ferkauf/Yeshiva poster on the results page from yesterday, was your interview for the Adult or Child PsyD?
Going crazy here
-
Three of the programs I've applied to (Immaculata, Yeshiva, FDU) have had other people get invites to interviews, but it's usually just one or two so I don't know if I'm just rejected outright or if they're outliers. I'm going crazy second guessing myself and my abilities. I really don't know how I'll react if I don't get in anywhere this cycle

Literally going insane. I haven't heard ANYTHING
In the same boat as both of you. I heard from three places all in the same week (before Christmas) and it's been crickets since then. A couple of my schools have sent out invites apparently but I haven't heard back from anyone so I'm panicking.

Anyone know about the status of things over at FDU or LIU Post? Are they done sending invites?
