  1. I inquired about my wait list position at USU (my top choice) and I am in the middle of the list. Should I give up hope?
  2. I am in the same situation. I was rejected from my top choice, wait-listed at one of my second choices and accepted to the other. I am so happy to have an acceptance, but the research at the program I was wait-listed for is a little more aligned with my interests. I feel terrible holding on to the offer while waiting for an opening at another school.
  3. Ugh, I found out that I am wait-listed from my second choice and I have only been accepted into one program (my third choice). I am worried because I only found out I was on the list because I called the university to ask for a status update. This probably means that I am low on the list, right?
  4. I am waiting for the rest of my decisions before accepting.
  5. Thank you so much for the kind words! I did not consider the possibility that the schools received more applications than prior years so that explains the level of intense competition. It blows my mind how competitive this field is and I am proud that I have made it this far. I think this process has made me doubt myself and I really hope that I get some confidence back come fall. Thanks again!
  6. Thank you for sharing. This experience is very taxing but I know that the career at the end will be worth it. I hope that one of the programs takes you off of the wait-list. Getting that far is more than most people!
  7. Thank you so much for the kind words. I really appreciate it. Best of luck in your applications!
  8. I am so confused (and also frustrated). At the beginning of application season, I got two interview invitations fairly quickly and then was offered admission to my second choice. This gave me some confidence about the my applications, but I've received more rejections. I am feeling insecure and, although I am thrilled that I was accepted into a program, I am wondering if I have tricked a school into accepting me. If I only am being wanted at one school, am I actually qualified for obtaining a Ph.D? I still have to wait for a few schools to send decisions, but I am fairly certain that they will be rejection letters.
  9. I am also waiting for Utah State and Utah's counseling program. From another thread it seemed like Utah State's interview weekend is in the next couple of weeks, so I am assuming a rejection from them. I called the University of Utah and they said that notifications will be going out this week.
  10. Has anyone heard from the University of Utah Counseling Psychology Ph.D program?
  11. School: Idaho State UniversityArea/Degree: Clinical Psychology PhD ProgramRationalization: Not a great fit Comment: I was hoping for an interview, but I only related to one POI in the programCoping tactics: Was accepted into one of my higher choices so I am okay.
  12. I have seen some posts about interviews being offered yesterday. I am hoping that I am not out of the running!
  13. I also interviewed for a program a few days ago and, although it was already one of my top choices, there is so much silence from the programs I applied to that getting accepted would likely be so much sweeter.
  14. School: University of Nebraska-LincolnArea/Degree: ClinicalRationalization: Too many applicants for few spotsComment: I really hoped I would get an interview so it kind of stings, but it wasn't my top choiceCoping tactics: Focusing on upcoming interview and my new job I also think I was rejected from University of Houston because I did not receive an interview invitation.
  15. I am considering doing the same thing. It looks like last year, invitations were send out around 01/15-01/20 so I am going to try to keep waiting. I don't want to be annoying either, haha. If you decide to call, though, would you mind sharing information on here ? Congrats on receiving so many interviews! I am still waiting to hear from seven schools.
  16. Definitely. I only have two interviews to prepare for but one is out of state and I am waiting to hear from other schools before I confirm -- I don't know how travel/work will work out for me just yet-- and I am hoping they will be accommodating if I need to do an interview over Skype or the phone! Best of luck
  17. Hopefully the interviews go well and you can at least find out right away if you've been accepted. I wish you the best of luck in balancing work and school!
  18. I'm looking forward to this being over, haha. I was recently made two job offers and telling them off the bat that I need days off is kind of awkward. Soon we will feel sweet relief
  19. I've only seen one poster for University of Denver Clinical Child. Would the poster please email me their POI initials? Also, has anyone heard about their updates aside from TGC?
  20. I'm trying to give myself a week from when other people have been sent interviews before panicking. Some schools send out interviews in waves and some send them all at once. Good luck!
  21. It's torture to see updates from programs I've applied to. Ah, hopefully good news is on its way.
  22. Will the poster for University of Utah, Counseling Psychology Ph.D mind emailing me their POI initials? Thanks
  23. I just had a job interview and I feel bad that I may not even be living in the same state in August. Hopefully I can start planning my year soon.
  24. University of Nebraska-Lincoln has started sending out rejection emails. Unfortunately, I did not make the cut. Good luck to all the interviewees!
