  2. That's how I felt! Like I applied to the program thinking there was a very slim chance I would be admitted. It was the best ranked school I applied to and I was just soo surprised that they wanted me.
  3. Thats awesome @NoMoreOrgo Congrats!!
  4. So I got great news and am super excited to get my first acceptance. But.... I was shocked I was accepted. I was fully preparing myself for rejection while checking on the university portal. Does/did anyone else feel this weird feeling of extreme happiness, as well as feeling they made a mistake and it's all about to come crashing down?
  5. I realize this thread is from a while ago but I was just wondering how you guys liked CMU and Pittsburgh so far? I just got addmitted into and engineering Ph.D. program!
  6. Got my first acceptance today from Carnegie Mellon! so excited!

  8. Thanks for a little reassurance y'all. I finished applying and didn't even really think about the withdraws because it was so long ago and then couldn't find any other posts about it and got worried.
  9. I've run into the same issue. I'm applying for Ph.D. programs in engineering but double majored in engineering and zoology. My overall GPA is lower than my engineering GPA because of the zoology courses I have taken. I just hope the programs I applied to think of the double major as an asset rather than just look at my GPA.

  11. Realized it should be titled withdrew as soon as I asked the question...
  12. Does anyone know how withdrawing from classes is viewed by admissions committees? I have withdrawn from two courses (one early in college because schedule was too heavy, and second was last semester because course was not required for major and was pre-med week out class) throughout college.
  13. Cool. Just figured since the due date was so early it would be out soon.
  14. Has anyone heard from UT Austin's BME program?
  15. Everytime I feel really anxious I just put on some power jams and go for a run! Highly recommended. Allows you to really think about things or not at all while also getting a good workout in. Planning meals and cooking has also been a good way to focus on other things while improving yourself.
  16. Ha yeah running and drinking has been doing the trick for me. Staying away from the computer has been the hardest part.
  17. That's a really great attitude to have. I myself haven't heard back from any schools yet and am getting very anxious about my next step.
  18. I currently go to UF. Is there anything specific you want to know about the town or university?
  19. I used Magoosh and found it extremely helpful. I took notes while watching the videos and then answered the end of section questions. Before the exam I did timed practice tests and found them extremely helpful. I agree with stereopticons though, the score predictor definitely was low. I think the most beneficial aspect of Magoosh is the level of difficulty of the problems. When I was actually taking the exam I was shocked at how easy it was. I finished all the math sections with plenty of time and ended up getting a 170 on the quantitative section.
