  1. Boston College! So I think that's where I'll be accepting admission for Fall
  2. That makes sense, I hope you get in!! I love UW but since it's out of state for me and I found out I got a scholarship to another school I think I'm going to say no.
  3. Same here - are you going to stay on the waitlist?
  4. @HaleyWantstobeaTherapist Thanks for staring this conversation!! I'm just reading it now and it makes me feel so much better to know that other people here are also looking at around $60k, I too was trying to stay under $40k ($30k preferably) but with only one in state school and all the other programs I applied to being out of state or private schools I'm looking at around $64k - $72k minimum with no aid. Hopefully there will be aid but so far I'm still waiting to hear back about it!
  5. Congratulations!! I'm still deciding were to go but I'm starting to look at housing because I'm considering both Boston College and Boston University. For Boston College they have this website for finding listings and help finding roommates https://offcampushousing.bc.edu/ As someone from out of state it's definitely daunting to try to do from afar but luckily they seem to have supports at the school to help with the process!
  6. Thanks! I'm actually not in the Portland area currently so I'm afraid I don't have any tips to offer in terms of apartment hunting. But I have friends there and can say that they have decent public transportation - so as long as you're close to a bus line you'll be able to get in to the school okay. Street parking is awful so unless you get a parking permit I'd definitely use the TriMet!
  7. Good luck to you too!! I definitely hope it's this week!
  8. Congratulations!! I was just accepted Friday too! I'm still waiting on UW and UCLA but I've gotten into Boston College and University. So right now I'm in a pro - con list phase. Portland is in state for me so just for the financial side of things its really tempting!!
  9. I'm still waiting too.... and it's really hard having to make decisions about other programs while still waiting to hear if you got into others!
  10. I just read this and tried that too! and I got the same "no decision to date" The wait continues!
  11. Thanks! Good luck making your decision!
  12. Right?! They're the only school that gave me an actual date range when I would hear so I'm hoping it's soon because I'm waiting on pins and needles!
  13. I'm not sure it would be much of an advantage if you already have a high gpa - but it couldn't hurt you if they're good scores. That being said if I definitely would not spend the time or money takings the gre if none of the schools you're applying to require it and your gpa is good.
  14. Congratulations! How soon after getting your email acceptance did you hear about it?
  15. Congrats!! That's so exciting! I just got acceted to Boston college!
  16. I got an email Tuesday (the 7th) that said I should expect a decision by the middle of this month. And I submitted my app Feb. 15th.
  17. Congratulations!! Good luck deciding both are great schools! I'm still waiting to hear from just about everyone - most all the schools I applied to said I'd hear from them by the end of March.... I did get into UConn but I'm waiting to hear about financial aid - I know every school's different but did you do anything aside from the basic application to get the USC scholarship?
  18. Good Luck to you too!! By next Friday we should all know!!!
  19. Congratulations to both of you!! Is UCLA your first choice? Or are you deciding between a few programs? Good luck making your decisions!
  20. Thanks! My undergrad degree was a BS in Psychology. I hope you do get in this year! but I understand why you might want to wait too! Experience is the area I would consider my weakest - so I think working and volunteering in the field is a great idea, not only because it would help you build your resume but it would also give you a better idea about what you do/don't want to do. Personally I feel like taking this year off to work I've learned a lot more about social work as a field and also gained skills I wouldn't have otherwise. Keeping my fingers crossed for both of us and everyone here!!
  21. Best of luck to you!! Did you apply anywhere else? I did what you were planning on doing and graduated last summer and took this year off to work and apply. The schools I decided to apply to were UW, Portland, Berkeley, UCLA, UConn, Boston University and Boston College. I feel pretty good about my GPA 3.8, I didn't do the GRE and as far as experience goes I've done volunteering/internships, am currently working as a case worker and had social service related jobs in college. So far I've only heard from UConn where I was accepted, yay! But all the others say they'll get back to be by the end of March or start of April.
  22. Thanks that's good to know! I hope it's good news - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
  23. Best of luck to you too! Hopefully we'll both hear back soon!
