Would would the certificate be in? If it would be in something related to research methods, then I think it could potentially be helpful.

Is anyone claiming the UNC admit in late Feb that was posted yesterday? Looks like this person was also accepted to Michigan

I've heard that understanding R might be helpful. -

This depends on the program, though. Some programs require an SOP of only 500 words. -
I took the GRE three times. I received a 4.5 on the AW section the first two attempts. On the second, I received a perfect 6. If you can demonstrate through your SOP and writing sample that you are able to write really well, then I wouldn't worry about retaking it.

Anyone turning down UNC-Chapel Hill for CP?

Any tips for how to phrase a question to a DGA regarding my status on a waitlist?
-
I was waitlisted at my top choice program. If admitted off the waitlist, I will definitely attend. I was informed on February 9 by the Director of Graduate Admissions at this program that I had been waitlisted. Would mid-March be too soon to email this person to inquire about my status on the waitlist? Thanks!

Anyone on here apply to REES programs this year? I was accepted at IU-Bloomington. -
Anyone here think that we'll hear from Indiana this week?
-
If the results from previous years are to be trusted, then IU-Bloomington will release some decisions today, probably mid to later afternoon.
-
Nice. Is UNC your top choice?
-
Great to know. Thanks. What's your subfield?
-
That was my thought, as well.
-
To those who applied to Indiana, it looks like decisions could be announced either tomorrow or Friday, based on previous years. Or even today, I suppose.
-
I was wondering the same thing. I didn't find the letter to be rude, personally. It was a straightforward rejection letter with a wish at the end of good luck in my future academic endeavors.
-
I noticed on the results page that someone was waitlisted yesterday for IR at UNC-Chapel Hill. What does it mean -- if anything -- if someone was waitlisted before someone else by two weeks, for example? I'm curious if this says anything about one's position on the waitlist.

Does anyone know the reputation of Indiana University's MA program in Russian and East European Studies?
-
That makes sense. I forgot about international students having to apply earlier. I guess the admissions process just makes one a bit cynical!
-
Is it possible that Indiana has actually announced all of their acceptances? According to the graduate secretary, decisions were still being made last week. Not really sure if I believe her, though, considering that some decisions were announced a couple of weeks ago (if the results are to be believed).

What do you think it means if my admissions portal at Minnesota changed to "Final Review"?
-
It's rather trashy, in my opinion.
