  1. I would recommend if you’re doing post bacc to do it where you want to get your masters. I did mine a few years ago and have noticed mang grad programs choose from within their system. If you have other degrees you’re probably pretty competitive for 3 year programs. Getting in is the hardest prt, if you’re able you could apply to a 3 yr program and a post bacc and see which one works out! I graduated in 2010, I did post bacc classes (not where I wanted to go to grad school) and it was hard to find letters of Rec. most want 2 academic and 1 professional, but some will accept non academic if you can explain why. I think it was harder to get in since I didn’t apply where I got my post bac. But I ended up getting my SLPA license and worked for 2 year, I was just accepted to the school I went to for that. It’s a long and winding road, but once you’re in your golden. Best of luck!
  2. I think I remember seeing you got admitted to Emerson? I’d guess it’s the same for them? Bc I think they use all the same admissions processes
  3. I just got pulled from the waitlist and requested to join the group!
  4. I know NYU requires it but I don’t think most state schools do. I think it’s so you’re “fresh”/up to date on research. Which I kind of get... but I don’t know if it really affects your success...
  5. Hampton u in Virginia has a literacy grant! You take an extra summer to focus on literacy and grant money...
  6. CONGRATS!!! Same here!! On cloud 9!
  7. Hey! So I had a friend in a similar situation this year. She got into SJSU and USC for OT grad school. She always wanted to go to USC but decided SJSU was more cost effective so chose that. The day before final decisions she decided she had worked her whole life for that USC diploma and decided it was worth it to her. Looking at CSUN online tuition Vs Emerson isn’t THAT different, especially if you’re getting scholarships, so if Emerson was your reach school and it means a lot to you, go for it! Congratulations!!!!!
  8. Waitlisted. Bummer
  9. eeek!!! Thanks for asking!!!!
  10. ohh do it! haha and then let us know what she says! She's pretty prompt about responding....
  11. meee toooo. I did a voice class but not fluency. they said they would look into the syllabus from the other class to see if it counts. From what I gathered from talking to them was if you're missing 1 class its not a big deal, they just dont want people who are missing multiple classes. Fingers crossed! I've been a wreck all week too! Hoping for news today but I'm guessing Friday.
  12. I have a feeling they will still tell us on friday so they can drop the news and leave for the weekend. but i'm reaaallly hoping you guys are right and today's the day!
  13. I spoke with them about it, if you don’t have it you can take it when you are admitted through them. You can take it through another program before you’re admitted but I don’t know about after. I don’t know very many undergrad programs who require fluency so it’s a weird conundrum
  14. Ahh 2 days after means any day now. If I wasn’t checking my email obsessively before, I am now. Anyone hear anything yet
  15. Based on the previous years notice we should hear this week! Fingers crossed! Longest weekend ever.
