My guess is that they haven't because I'm 98% certain I'm going to be rejected, but who knows. I'll let you guys know if I hear anything.

Thanks for letting us know! I also applied on the deadline (at like 11 pm, no less) and had resigned myself to not hearing back until like mid-April, lol.

That sounds super frustrating. You found out you were accepted quite a while ago, right? I am in a similar boat waiting to hear back about FA from a different school and it's so stressful.

Yeah, that's what @patientlywaiting2 did, I believe, and they were able to tell them that they would have an answer by March 23rd. Not what you want to hear, I'm sure, but it would probably be better to at least know what's going on. I know, I was thinking about that, too... something clearly went haywire with this year's admissions. I saw people theorizing that they had less people reading the applications than usual, but I can't remember where I read that or any more detail than that, I'm afraid...

Well, you still could... you could also always call them tomorrow or Friday to see where you are in the queue if you don't get an answer tonight or tomorrow night.

You could try to call them before they close? They might be slightly annoyed about it though since they're in the middle of a blizzard up there. You were a priority applicant, right? It's so hard to keep track of everyone's status.

Also, I just checked Columbia's website and they're closing today at 4 pm... I feel like that means no decisions today, but who knows.

Thank you, same to you! And yeah, it's disappointing but I feel like in the end the degree itself is what matters, not the name on the diploma (as long as it's an accredited school, of course).

Or maybe you'll be accepted! You never know! I just got rejected from one of my top choices, so trust me, I know how crappy it would feel... but the good news is, even if that is the outcome, you have other great programs to choose from!

Yeah, that was the date they gave me as well. I managed to get an extension until April 6th, but the Director of Admissions told me that responding that late might limit my field placement opportunities.

Wow yeah that is super off-putting and unhelpful. If worst comes to worst could you send in your deposit to NYU and then back out later? Or has this whole experience soured you on Columbia? (Wouldn't blame you if it had.)

I don't know that that's necessarily true... I'm really sorry they're giving you the runaround, though. If I were you I would call them next week and make sure you mention that you have no choice, that you have to let NYU know by Thursday and that you can't get another extension. That really sucks though. I'm sorry for the way they're treating you.

That is crazy... did you let them know that you absolutely have to hear back by the 15th?

Man, if I were you guys, I would be resisting the urge to call them every day, lol. I do wonder when they're gonna be able to get back to us non-priority applicants... probably not until May, at this rate.

That sounds frustrating, I'm sorry. You applied in early January, right? Do you have a deadline to get back to other schools?

@lanabeni, and anyone else, really - do you know if Columbia gives any merit aid for the online program? I'm not really too keen on moving back to NY if I were to get in, which - let me be clear - I HIGHLY doubt I will. But I'm kind of kicking myself for not doing more research into the online program just to see if it would be doable. I might reapply next year, who knows...

I think they just haven't gotten through priority applicants yet. @patientlywaiting2 was told that they wouldn't hear back until March 23rd today, and I'm pretty sure they were a priority applicant. Still, if I were in your shoes, I'd call - I doubt it can hurt, and it sounds like it might be a little while still. Pizza is always a great coping mechanism, lol.

So I just got an email saying that my admission decision was available for Tulane, despite the portal saying that my second recommendation letter is still outstanding... they said I got in, but I don't know whether to trust it, or whether it's some kind of mistake? Called and emailed them but no response yet. Has anyone ever had something like this happen to them before? Help!
