It’s not a stupid question. I believe people have said it’s an email that tells you there is an update to your application status and to check the portal for your decision.

Oh, that’s great news! They said within 10 days for you sometime last week, right?

Yeah, if anything, I'm even more confused about what's going on now, especially since some people who applied in January and February have already heard back. My guess is they're saying 8-10 weeks just to cover their bases, but it's still very disheartening especially since I'm supposed to let other schools know of my decision by early to mid-April (and I already got an extension from one of them).

Y'ALL. Okay, I just called, and the guy looked me up, and he said that it usually takes 8-10 weeks for a decision to come out... meaning I should expect to hear back the third week of April. I was not expecting that at all, but I guess that means that other people who applied on or around the 15th should expect to hear back then too? Wow. I really hope he was just erring on the side of caution...

Gotcha. Did you like it when you went there for undergrad? I've never visited/don't know much about the area (not that I'm expecting to get in anyway after the BU fiasco, lol).

Just to double-check, BC doesn't send you any kind of notification when your application is complete, right? I think I called them and they said they had everything but I've done that for several schools so now I'm not entirely sure...

Same... just realized that another snowstorm is supposed to hit NYC this evening, but not until 8 pm, so I think there's a good chance they will send out some decisions today.

Is anyone else getting absurdly nervous about tomorrow/this week? My friend who is getting her MSW at Columbia right now is coming down to visit on Thursday and Friday, and I'm all paranoid I'm going to get notified that I was rejected while I'm hanging out with her, lol.

Hey, does anyone have a guess whether it would be worth still applying, or should I wait until next year? My GPA is 3.5, BA in an unrelated field, not much experience... I thought I was done for this year, but then I got a surprise rejection and now I'm in full panic mode.

Not that we know of, but an admissions rep said that rejections have been sent out. Nothing for me today.

That's so awesome! Yeah, I originally thought that I might want to study English as well, but taking AP English Lit in high school pretty much cured me of that desire. Ugh, did you have to read Beowulf too? Reading all that crap in Middle English is seriously the most useless and tedious thing I have ever done in my life.

On their website it says that the admissions standards for online and residential are the same. What do you mean by 2/15 cutoff? Were they able to look you up and tell you anything specific, or did they just say it would be within two weeks like they've been telling everyone?
