  1. I am honestly considering calling Monday if I don't hear something today. I know it's soon but at the same time, this sitting-on-rejections theory has me paranoid, lol.
  2. I think the priority deadline for financial aid was 12/1, but I’m pretty sure that doesn’t mean you won’t receive any financial aid if you are accepted. Just that you’ll be considered for aid after other applicants, if that makes any sense.
  3. Omg it's so true, lol. I tried to text my friend who applied to MSW programs last year and is currently at Columbia about it, but I'm pretty sure she was lucky enough to hear back from everywhere she applied (including Columbia) within like two weeks, haha. If only!
  4. I checked and @SSocial applied on 1/20 and heard back on 2/16 for the reduced residency program. So I wouldn't worry just yet; they probably haven't gotten to your app because they had a lot of priority applicants.
  5. Oh, I understand! There is someone who was accepted to the reduced residency program on the other Columbia thread, but I think they applied by the priority deadline of December 1st? Not sure, would have to check on that.
  6. Yeah, this forum is both helpful and anxiety-inducing, lol. I really don't know why they would say that if they were so behind on reading applications. Ah well. At least we're all suffering together?
  7. Yeah, that's fair. I also just want to know but I've only been waiting three weeks so I can't really complain, haha.
  8. Yeah, regardless of what the decision is, it really sucks that they're keeping you hanging, imho - but it would be kind of awful to make you wait this long just to learn you weren't accepted.
  9. I tend to think you're right as we haven't seen one single rejection posted... someone on here said that the representative they talked to said that some rejections have been sent out, though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  10. A depressing update: I got rejected from BU on Wednesday, and I applied 2/15, so they have definitely started to get back to people. Haven't heard anything from BC yet, but I'm pretty sure they're more selective than BU, so I'm not hopeful.
  11. Yeah, that is wild. I hope they let you know soon!
  12. Hey, congrats! Seems like a lot of people are in the same boat in terms of waiting to hear back about financial aid. Idk how they can expect you to make a decision before you know such vital information, lol.
  13. Ha! Yeah, I think this year is very atypical, but who knows.
  14. Haha, there is that. I also think it will be helpful for future applicants to have this thread... if they don't get sick of all my jabbering and give up by page 12, lol.
  15. I agree! I think they are feeling the pressure to give out some kind of explanation, but the one they're providing just makes them seem super disorganized. Maybe I'm wrong and it makes sense behind the scenes, but at this point, I kinda doubt it.
  16. I agree! I think priority applicant should mean that you are the priority... lol.
  17. It's certainly possible. Well, my hat's off to you... you're much more patient that I would be if I was in your shoes, that's for sure. Are you waiting to hear back from anywhere else, or just Columbia?
  18. Yeah, that seems like a super odd way and not really fair way of doing things imho. It may depend on program but I still think you should have heard back sooner than people who applied after you since you made the effort to apply by the priority deadline.
  19. Wow, congrats! You must be a very impressive candidate!
  20. Very interesting - did she give any explanation as to why it went haywire?
  21. Not sure what you mean - was that separate from the regular application? I applied for the 2 year residential clinical track on 2/15 as well. There are people who applied in November who are still waiting to hear back, though.
  22. Has anyone heard anything from BC recently? @ngoc9? I applied less than two weeks ago so I shouldn't even be stressing out yet but I can't help it, haha.
  23. I don't know if I would do that... it might come off as a little pushy. But obviously it's up to you, if you think you can do so with finesse, more power to you. I just know it would end in disaster if I tried it, lol.
  24. Gotcha. I mean, I didn't have much hope to begin with (I lack experience and my essays were only so-so), but they gave me a fee waiver for attending a grad fair that they hosted, so I figured I might as well. I'm rooting for everyone here though!
  25. That's interesting. Was she able to give an estimate of when you would hear back by?
