Hey I am looking for someone who went to the on campus interview at WUSTL. I interviewed there via Skype and wanted to ask someone who was there a few questions about their experience on campus. So, if anyone was there and would be kind enough to share, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I am 30 years old and have a soon to be toddler at home. I will be starting a PhD in the coming year. I have found that quite the contrary to what people say, being an “older” student and a mother has made me a better student and researcher. I have had no choice but to prioritize things and accomplish them rapidly without delay. I have been working in research for 5 years now and have realized that people with more life experience make better academics in general. I know it may seem intimidating to be in a different phase of life than other students but I think you’d be surprised that there are more of us out there than you might imagine. ❤️

I think that sounds like a beautiful combination and something I would personally wear. I think part of your personality should be able to show through as long as you look professional and it is flattering.

I am going to wear my nose ring and cartilage piercing but I think social psychology is a little more casual than clinical.

I would wear what you would normally wear to a job interview.

I think you could be absolutely correct. That being said, I think there is a large range of what’s acceptable between the two. I think it is important to be wearing professional clothing that are comfortable and you feel confident wearing.

From what I have seen online, it seemed like the expected attire was more business casual and not full suits but I could be mistaken. This website ( http://www.howtogetintograduateschool.com/what-to-wear-to-a-graduate-school-interview/ ) for example says not to over dress

I am also waiting on UNC- Chapel Hill and University of Virginia. Haven’t heard anything yet.

Does anyone know what the interview day schedules look like? I have heard it is all day meetings and a group dinner at night. Any insight into what to expect would be amazing.
