Definitely feels that way, especially when I keep refreshing the results page every few minutes. But some are still extending! Every time I think one of my programs is finished, it looks like someone new heard something. Don't lose hope unless you know for sure.
Hahahaha I understand that feeling. I saw people posting about Fairleigh Dickinson last week and even though it likely signaled bad news for me, I hoped I would still hear something. "Maybe the interviews go out in waves," I told myself. Getting the actual rejection yesterday was sad, but provided the closure I needed to let it go.  I wish all schools could let you know that quickly.

I am interviewing at UCLA on Friday (weather permitting!), sorry.

You have 2 more interviews to kick a$$ at and other programs who think your credentials are amazing. Brush it off, begin preparing for them, learn from your first interview, don't let this get to you!  ❤️  

Guys, I got another interview offer...once again not for psychology. ? It's for linguistics at Maryland.

Can I email admin offices if the result of me being accepted or rejected determines if I adopt another dog? But seriously just reject me already.

I also got the generic email from Irvine. I am also waiting for their notification, but I think I'll be rejected soon...........

Yeah, same. I work with two mentors who have both said they're thrilled to be able to employ me for another year and have even alluded to helping me pay for apps next year since the cost of applying was/is a big limiting factor for me, which is soooo nice. But I'm still going through the silly "boohoo I'm just not smart enough" feelings. I'm hoping/trying to refocus that energy into gearing up to re-apply. Hope you manage to do the same (and that the February invite might still roll in!).

If we haven't heard anything back yet, I'm thinking now is the time to start re-prioritizing for the year and focusing on re-applying next cycle -- anyone else have thoughts about this? This is my first time applying and I only applied to 7 schools, so I'm not necessarily expecting to even get interviews this round, but the not knowing if I should have heard yet is... stressful. Anyway, if anyone else is in the same boat, just offering ya'll some solidarity! 

Is anyone else starting to go a little bit crazy? I jump every time my phone vibrates.

EXACT SAME REACTION, i read it like 10 times to make sure i didn't miss anything... I am still hoping for them to give me a chance, good luck to you as well!
 

Oh jeez, my nerves! Just got an email from UC Irvine.... first excitement (maybe its an invite), then dread and near vomit (its probably a rejection), then I realized it was just a generic notification acknowledging my application. You are cruel Irvine, that's just cruel... lol Anyone else holding their breath on Irvine?

This response alone would easily make you one of the best therapy clinicians I know!

Thank you so much for the uplifting words. I'm already working two jobs, but it felt like three just trying to get the applications done. We're all so qualified, and it's tough fighting for literally a handful of spots. Good luck to you, third time's the charm! ?

This is my third round of applications so I understand how easy it is to get down on yourself when those invites/acceptances aren't rolling in. For me, it is a constant process of reminding myself how competitive these programs are and reminding myself to be proud of my accomplishments up to this point. Even just following through to submit 18 applications is a HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT! I barely survived doing 10 this year... Your value is NOT dependent on your acceptance into a program or your recognition by a school. Every single one of us applying to these programs shows a tremendous amount of commitment and dedication to bettering the quality of life in our society and that is something to be proud of in itself. Each time you go through these application cycles you become smarter, stronger, and a better person by learning patience, how to manage anxiety, and how to process rejection. Most of all, I just remind myself that rejection is a universal experience, one that is felt by EVERYONE at some point in their life. Knowing there are others out there, in the exact same position, experiencing the same wave of emotions as I, gives me confidence that we will all come out on the other side as better people. Be your own #1 cheerleader and remember to also build yourself up and not just your applications. Confidence will naturally follow, even in the face of self-doubt and rejection. ❤️

i reached out to ICI last night and while i didn’t ask specifically about my application, they said they are still reviewing and sending invites so fingers crossed 

UCI's interview weekend for the Dev Psych program is this upcoming week (11/13-11/14). Not sure if it is the same for all psych depts (would assume not) but I can try to get a feel when I'm there!

Hi everyone! First application cycle for me and looking for some perspective....Once schools start extending interview invitations to other candidates, how long should someone hold out hope before they realize it's just not happening? ? Thanks!
