Girl, I feel the same way! I'm currently applying to 9 schools ( because I'm that determined to get into ONE school). The process was very confusing and tedious.. They had the GRE waived so I have a feeling there might be a lot of applicants this year (or because of COVID less people are applying..hope this is the case ). That being said I don't have a GRE score, my GPA is 3.4 in behavioral sciences and im taking completing a second bachelors for speech language pathology ( only 6 classes in but 3.90). SUPER NERVOUS but go us for working this hard. Sending love and support to my future SLPS !

From what I've learned, there's no point changing your hook/intro, past experiences, and current experiences. These should be set in stone. The only part of your statement that differs for each school should be the last paragraph, connecting your experiences/ambitions to the specific school. I hope that eases the anxiety on writing "multiple" letters. (because you really don't!)
When doing your research for schools, look at what concentration the program highlights! If they emphasize Med-SLP training, but you're interested in education, most likely their faculty's researches and clinical preparation may not be ideal for you. Only apply to schools you truly stand with! Your desire to go to their school will make the writing process easier.
    Good luck!

I wrote my personal statement and letter of intent for my top school and then tweaked  it for each school I was applying to. I’m not sure about focusing on medical or educational. When I applied to programs i guess I focused on school based speech but I also wasn’t applying to programs that were heavily medical. I focused on my love of speech and working with children. You’re not at a disadvantage if you don’t go the medical route. If you know for sure you don’t want to then don’t. If you’re undecided then that’s fine too because we all receive the same foundations and then through clinicals, externships and internships you can receive specialized training and such. Of course some programs are very much geared towards medicine and research but really think about what you want and maybe see if the schools you like have different routes you can take. You can also ask them HOW they would get you ready for the medical field and such.

I am a first year, so I haven't gone through this yet myself. I think the title might be something to consider based on what setting you think you might want to work in, I am looking to go towards the education side so I viewed it as a plus. With that said, they do try to prepare you for both settings and take your interests into consideration when coordinating the internships/externships. If you want a hospital placement, when the time comes you make this known to faculty members and they do their best to get you into a setting that fits this or close to it. Because yes, the settings are very different and I've observed and/or volunteered at both as well so I think it's something to consider. Don't be afraid to PM me anytime for questions as well!

I would urge you to take Intro to Physics and take it credit/no credit. I recently have been talking to admissions about the new 2020 changes and they are getting more and more strict about what they are accepting.
An alternative would be to reach out to the schools that you are applying to and make sure that they will accept this class as an alternative.

    Good luck!!!

I definitely don't think grad schools will judge you for taking an easier course! Let's face it, most of us in this field aren't math people. Your major courses and writing ability matter much more for admissions.
It's actually the grad programs who decide whether the science courses fit the ASHA prereq, so I would ask some CSD professors (maybe ones from your upcoming post-bacc) or contact a few grad programs to see if they would accept it. My guess is that they would, but you should get a consensus opinion before beginning.

    Hello!!!
I am starting my post bacc in Speech Pathology soon and I read that for the ASHA physical science requirement is now only accepting Chemistry and Physics. I plan on taking Conceptual Physics at a community college. It is different from Intro to Physics... Conceptual physics apparently has less math ( I guess an easier version of physics?)
Does anybody know if Conceptual Physics is acceptable or how picky ASHA is with the courses??
ALSO do you think grad schools will look at how I took the easier physics course instead of regular physics or chemistry? and judge...
