I can’t believe people are getting rejections already. It seems way too early ?

Hey mods - should users post rejections/waitlists here too? Just to give everyone else an idea of their application status.

I tend to think life won’t be normal for a while. It’ll be a long time before the general population can receive the vaccine, which causes more barriers for the GRE. I don’t know if they will, but programs should keep the GRE at least optional for the next cycle.

I agree with you on this. The person on the results page is being rude, and quite frankly.... weird. Some people want to remain anonymous with their PI, and they have every right to do so. That’s why we have the interview thread!

I read on SDN from a faculty member that interview invites might not come until January. Hang tight, and don't worry if you don't get an interview invite this month!

Harvard (December 15th), university of Kansas (child clinical, dec. 11th), St. John’s (December 31st), Texas at Tyler (brand new program, not APA accredited yet, January 15th). None are rolling.

You're absolutely right, and I agree. It perpetuates inequity, and since clinical psych programs are already so difficult to get into, that's the last thing that's needed in the application process.

I don't think it's a bad thing to keep checking!! Some PI's are reaching out to students early for a pre-interview or just to chat. Keep checking, but don't be stressed! You got this ❤️

I know this doesn’t mean a whole lot for this cycle, but I just found out that the University of Texas at Tyler has a brand new, fully funded Clinical Ph.D. program! A professor has stated on Twitter that they will be taking applications until January 15th.

It looks like Auburn is sending out interview invites.

I think a lot of people were just throwing out their applications to a ton of programs, not knowing the actual work that is needed for a clinical psych application.

That's a great idea! Some people probably won't want to share their PI, so this is a great alternative for those who want to be forthcoming with that info!

Yeah, I'm starting to worry about that. I consider myself a fairly competitive applicant, but admissions is also a complete crapshoot. Ugh.

Ah, I'm nervous for this. My list (for next year) has 20 schools on it right now for PI's that I have a similar interest in, but I'm afraid it'll be cut in half due to funding and stuff like that. Ahhhhh!

I'm so sorry. Don't let that be your impression of the application cycle though. I know you guys will get invites.

There are some programs that have 11/15 deadlines so that's probably why! No worries. You got this!
