  1. Hey! I'm also curious about this - could I dm you?
  2. Hey! I actually live like 5 mins from the U - great program, I can give you tips/suggestions about living in the Twin Cities! What do you think you want to do after? Best of luck, sounds like you're off to a great start if you have zoomed with your PI and two current students! What other programs are you applying to? I was going to apply to U of MN MSW, but I really butchered the application, ended up submitting the wrong SOP lol. Keep me updated on the process!
  3. How was your interview process for Columbia? Anything stand out that I should know? Thanks girl!
  4. Creating a thread to discuss the range of masters programs for psych. Waiting to hear from: Columbia, NYU, American University, Wake Forest, Fordham. Anyone else just.... waiting...? I have been watching the PhD forums, and am thrilled to see everyone receiving interviews/admits to their programs, but I feel as though the masters programs are much, much slower. Post below any updates you have to your programs! Not sure how many prospective MA students there are out there
  5. I wonder what goes through those individuals minds where they feel the need to post fake results? I'm thinking they either couldn't get into grad school themselves, or they enjoy being miserable humans by upsetting others. Either way, I feel sorry for them. I'm not applying to PhD programs, but want to remind everyone to stay focused and hold on a bit longer. Just because you don't receive the news you may be expecting, that doesn't indicate anything about who you are as a person, or your future successes. Furthermore, be gentle with yourself! There are so many factors included in the process. To all of those receiving good news in the upcoming days/weeks - congrats! You deserve it, and will be FAB in your upcoming positions and studies
  6. I've heard if you have a solid connection with your PI at a certain program, definitely ask them what they think you can improve on for next time, What's the worst they could say, that they're too busy? I think its important to see an individual who wants to grow from "mistakes", or receive constructive criticism.
  7. What other programs did you apply to?
  8. Oh god, the anxiety!
  9. You did the MSW? I applied to both MSW and Clinical Psych MA
  10. Applied Dec. 1! I'm assuming you did as well? So nervous!
  11. Why do you say that? Have confidence in yourself! I'm sure you have a valuable educational or professional history.
  12. Me! Have you heard anything yet, almost a week later? Dying.
  13. Have people heard otherwise? Waiting for Columbia... Agh
  14. I applied to a few schools, Rutgers being the only PsyD. Columbia SSW + Clinical Psych, NYU psych, Fordham, U of MN, Tulane, American, Wake! Only have heard from one, Tulane.
  15. The agony... omg! What other programs did you apply to?
  16. Clinical, you? I'm so nervous... I applied over a month ago. Do you know much about the application process after submitting? To be honest, this isn't my top choice, but still curious
  17. PsyD for Rutgers! How about yourself?
  18. I also applied to Rutgers + Fordham and interested in hearing more.
  19. A therapist at my job got her Clinical SW from Columbia (I also applied, hey!) She is the best therapist I've ever met. Said she loved the experience, the opportunities and would do it again 100%. She also had to decide between NYU and Columbia, and feels happy with her choice of Columbia. I haven't heard back from either person above, and the wait is killing me!
  20. Hi All, Taking the GRE in 7 (!!!) days - very nervous as I often don't do well on standardized tests. Have been studying with practice tests, Kaplan flashcards and Magoosh. Any last minute tips/tricks you've found to be useful, or things I can do in the next week for myself? Best of luck to all taking the final GRE's in the next few weeks for the application deadlines! We've got this
