Yeah I think thats the only program i've heard that truly treat both equally. I heard Sinai might be a bit more international friendly in their admissions as well. 

Is anyone else lowkey or highkey freaking out about the fact that there are only 2-3 international students in most programs? That sounds like 20-30% of the international student interviewees... I def am feeling super stressed about this

No! This is just a place to discuss interview prep if you'd like. It's for applicants, made by an applicant (me).

Do you have computational backgrounds? If not, programs like neuromatch specifically train you on comp neuro skills so I’d recommend that over the summer. Some other summer schools also help a lot! 
 
Since you are already at Harvard, you should definitely reach out to some professors there to ask if you could do research w them as an intern. Feel free to message me for specific professors in comp neuro, but they are  also not hard to figure out from their websites. I’d also look at other schools and professors whose websites will say that they are looking for summer interns or just “undergrads/masters” to work with. Even if not, just reach out as long as you are interested in their papers - you have nothing to lose.
 
My field is comp neuro (and I’m also an international student from China!), and this field is still quite small and definitely needs more talent. So it’s great that you want to research in this area!

Seems like you got invites from some of the top schools despite being international! Congrats  
From what I know, NYU did send out invites (and it’s usually all in one go), but there’s a chance they send a few if people don’t accept the invites (this is what I was told).

I'm not sure on the interview number, but I am curious to hear about how many get accepted from interviews at Columbia if anyone else has information!

Thanks snowbabyjia. I hope so. Good luck to you! I think they have like 600 applicants per year and about 50 get selected for interviews, so it's great that you got to be one of the 50! 

I feel that they are sending out invites one by one, given the time span of emails received. Also the invitation letter filename has my last name in it, so high chance that someone has to hand-edit that?

Anyone heard from UPenn NGG today?

We have two interview weekends so I *suspect* they're not done sending out invites (but can't confirm first-hand).
 

Hope everyone's applications are going smooth! I contacted a few PIs before the deadline (specifically the UPenn NGG program) and asked to meet, and a couple of them got back to me. However, they proposed dates that are after the deadline. Ofc I still said yes. Now these meetings are coming up, and I'm feeling a bit confused - are these considered mini-interviews then? Should I treat these as in normal interviews?

I have a couple of dumb questions on the NYU Neuro application requirement this year... 1. Did the GSAS application specify a word-limit? 2. What is that separate computational/systems neuroscience optional statement? I want to apply to computational, so my SOP already talks about why that's what I want to do and why I'm qualified. So how is that second statement different?
