  1. I appreciate that and I'm absolutely grateful for the programs I was admitted to. My background is atypical for MPA/MPP programs so I was expecting there to be some schools who found it interesting and worth a shot, while others might believe it wasn't a good fit. I had mediocre, at best, grades in undergrad, below 3.0, but decent GRE scores 164V/162Q. I've been out of school for 9 years working for a general contractor, but I'm now looking to move into housing/education policy. I'm so excited to make a move this year and go into the public sector. Best of luck to you and the rest of this thread as we all begin our graduate degrees!
  2. Yeah, I was waitlisted a few days ago in a fairly comical way. The email subject line from UW Admissions said 'Congratulations!' and then the body of the email said, in more words than this, 'You've been waitlisted.' It would probably have been less funny if I wasn't fortunate enough to have a couple of other acceptances. Congratulations to everyone who made it in and best of luck to you all in your respective MPA/MPP programs!
  3. I would like to say that @CAKHKS79's posts have been the best. And it's not particularly close.
  4. Rejected from the MPA program. The status was updated this morning. Definitely disappointing but I'm fortunate to have options between SIPA, Wagner, & McCourt. Congratulations to everyone who got in! Fantastic news and go (safely) celebrate it with loved ones.
  5. Is anyone still waiting on an admissions decision from Evans? The application portal status has been on 'Submitted' since I applied at the end of December.
  6. I'm in the same position. McCourt at the bottom of my list but gave $27K/yr and SIPA at the top with no funding. I sincerely hope there are more updates that will be posted over the next 24 hours, but at this point it seems really doubtful. Best of luck to you in trying to negotiate for something from SIPA. I'm going to give it my best shot.
  7. Congratulations to everyone who was accepted and/or received funding! It's an awesome feeling to be sure and you all should be proud. I was an early action acceptance for USP but haven't received any updates on financial aid. Anyone else in the same boat? SIPA has been my top choice for a while now so it would be really discouraging to not get any funding.
  8. Still waiting and I also applied prior to the financial aid deadline. Maybe this week will be the week!
  9. Yeah, mine has been stuck there for a few months.
  10. Same boat as these two with $27K/yr pre-negotiation and I applied during the early period. However, i didn't receive a research assistantship.
  11. Congrats! I received a Public Service Scholarship for just 15% of tuition.
  12. Nope, not yet. There have a been a few threads discussing this but it seems like a lot of schools are posting decisions a bit later than usual and that could be due to a significant increase in the quantity of applicants for this year. Best of luck to you and I hope we hear back from Price soon.
  13. I've definitely gone through your posts and really appreciate the perspective/feedback. McCourt is not at the top of my list for several reasons, however it was nice to get in and the funding is a requirement for any program. Holding out hope for a merit award for SIPA.
  14. I'm super grateful to have received acceptances to SIPA's MPA (funding TBD) and Georgetown's MPP (50%). Still waiting on six others so a lot could change, but at the moment I'm most excited about SIPA's program and the opportunity to live in NYC.
  15. Same boat as you. I received an email later yesterday afternoon saying I was waitlisted. Hope you do ultimately get in and congratulations to those who did receive acceptances!
  16. I received an email yesterday saying I was waitlisted and would hear definitively by April 15th. A little disappointing but there's still hope!
  17. @Kole_Kolt & @EscapingBrexitcongratulations to you both! What program did you apply for at GWU?
  18. It's a 4-5 times/day ritual to check in on the application status. Rooting for all of you!
  19. Same boat as everyone else. No word yet.
  20. Good to know! Congratulations and thanks for responding quickly. I was accepted to SIPA in December but no fellowships. Still have my fingers crossed for something in the coming weeks. Best of luck to you on your outstanding applications.
  21. @scholarloadingI'm curious about your SIPA funding because I thought they didn't give out award letters until March. Can you give some additional info on how it was provided? Did they send out your funding letter with the early action acceptance back in December?
  22. Based on the 2019 and 2020 boards the final decisions came in mid-March. Hope you receive some good news then!
