I JUST GOT ACCEPTED TO BOSTON COLLEGE! I'm crying so hard. I'm so thankful and in disbelief, I've been shaking since I got the email. I'll be emailing shortly to take myself off of the UConn waitlist and I hope this helps someone else out. Thank you all so much for your kind words and support through this whole process. It's especially wonderful because yesterday marked one year since my dad passed away, and I can't help but feel he's looking out for me.

Just got an email that I'm now at the top of the waitlist at Boston College. Fingers crossed! I'd love to see a five + year dream/goal achieved and never have to go through an admissions cycle again ?

I am a non-traditional applicant who finished my undergrad at 31, MA at 38, and now starting a PhD at 40 (!). Last year, I only got in to 1/5 programs, with no funding. This year, I had six offers (four of which were funded), one of which was my dream school. We really do get better at this as we go haha. ?

Long-time lurker here, belated hello to everyone on this thread that has really helped me feel less alone in the process! Just decided to chime in as I've heard back from both Penn State and Purdue's MA in Lit/Theory/Culture--Purdue was a while back for me in late February and Penn State in mid March. I declined both of their offers so hopefully a spot will be opening up for somebody soon!

Also rejected, but like... credit to whoever wrote that rejection email, lol. 
2 waitlists for me this season - staying positive, both programs I am really invested in! If not, next year it is.

Was expecting it to hurt, but I think the weight of all these rejections, and the time and effort I spent putting my life aside for the sakes of a grand total of absolutely nothing, has suddenly hit me with a ton of bricks.

Hi! So I reached out to both the DGS and my PoI, and the sense I got is that things are so tight due to the pandemic that I don’t think an email would make that much of a difference. I think you’re probably fine, but if it’s causing you anxiety, emailing the DGS to confirm your continued interest in their program probably wouldn’t hurt! 

Who sends out a rejection at 8pm on a Saturday?!?!?!
Relieved to have the info, but it did make it hard to sleep. Soooooo many failure dreams.

YALL! I got into my dream program at UVA!!! I can’t believe I did it!!!!
i got the email while I was at my nanny job and started crying and shaking. I told my child I was happy because I was going to be a teacher and she hugged me said “I hope you will be mine next year!” Cue more tears. 
 
I can’t believe this is real!!!

I'm sending everyone good vibes - I just had an amazing phone call with the DGS at the Minnesota Writing Studies program who offered me admission! I was staring down a shut out, pending waitlist movement, but now I got into my top program. It's possible, y'all! Every single person here is a great academic and can make it happen!

I am sure UT Austin is releasing decisions today. How do i know?!?!? I was searching for a wifi psw, and saw this......any else sees the UTa in the middle....

This is random but I am from the deep south and talking to departments that are definitely not in the deep is jarring. ? I suddenly feel very self-conscious of my voice and speech patterns. 

I know technically the acceptance into the MA program makes this an acceptance letter, but has anyone ever told Fordham that--although admittedly humorous--it's somewhat tone-deaf to include an overlay of celebratory streamers and confetti when rejecting someone from a PhD program.
And as someone who just posted an edited decision page as a joke, I wanna be clear: this is not a joke or an edited photo, it's actually what their decision letter looks like.

Anyone else getting this weird message on their pending applications or is it just me? Guessing this is a hint from the adcoms that I should refresh a few more times
