If you are using IE or Mozilla on a desktop/laptop, look at the top right hand corner ... you should see an envelop looking thing there ... click on that, then you can compose a PM from there. Conversely, you can click on who ever you're trying to communicate with's profile and you should also see the option to message them as well on there.

Outside of MAYBE the writing portion, I don't see what the GRE really helps to indicate that someone is going to be a good art historian or any kind of historian. As long as I can I utilize a dictionary, I am good to go!

Appiah's book is a fascinating book and I read it several years ago. I recently picked up Drink, Power, and Cultural Change: A Social History of Alcohol in Ghana, c. 1800 to Recent Times (Social History of Africa Series) by Emmanuel Akyeampong.
