It seems that in the history field, people tend to apply to 6-7 schools on average, as far as PhDs go. I wish I had known about that when I was applying to schools b/c there were a couple of other schools I wanted to apply to but I thought I was being too greedy applying to so many schools. Silly me!

I'm actually a fan of the online notification because it will cut out the need of another human being on the other end of a potentially awkward phone call.

How come the other schools don't make you fill one out explicitly? I know a couple of the schools I applied to asked about my sources of income etc but I only remember seeing one ask about the FAFSA

At this point I think I'm a step away from not caring anymore because if they say I'm waitlisted or something even worse then I have to wait till 15 Apr 12 or even furrther down the road. I feel terrible about it though. Then again coming on here allows me to still care, because you see so many people passionate and concerned, kind of inspires you.

Well morning AFB! I have chosen that as my anthem for today (don't ask ... I haven't slept in a few hours)

Well I am emotionally drained after that game ... nothing can top this feeling right now ... so I say bring it on schools ...

um I've been watching ESPN all day and now I'm watching the game ... I feel terrible that I am not partaking in the answers being given ... OK ... back to the game .. I SWEAR tomorrow I will redouble my dedication and efforts on grade cafe ... scout's honor!

Hey Nat & SL, can you speak to the suggestion that Princeton doesn't really require their students to teach as TAs/TFs as much as the other ivies do. What other schools don't put a lot of emphasis on their PhD candidates teaching?
