Finishing my undergrad at Carleton, and I was waitlisted as an alternate here... not offered at McGill.

Just wanted to let alternates at Carleton know though... our university (admin staff) has been on strike for the past four weeks and they just returned on Wednesday. I wonder if alternate offers are being sent out or if the FGPA office is really backed up and is delayed in sending out offers (of admission and/or ) to alternates. I tried calling but I haven't been able to get ahold of anyone yet.

Anyone out there who was initially an alternate receive an offer since April 1? Or anyone have luck contacting the office and asking?

I've been an alternate at Carleton for SSHRC since April 1st. I received an email today saying that my status changed... I just logged in and it looks like I've been offered funding!

I was also an alternate for UOttawa so my spot was declined. For all fellow alternates there, you'll at least be moved up a spot. Good luck everyone!!

Congrats!  When did you get the email? I am antsy now! I called the office on Friday and they said but I will likely be receiving an offer this week. I hope I move up as well.... fingers crossed!

Has anyone who was given alternate status for Concordia heard anything back or seen any movement? I've been hesitant to contact the graduate funding office to see if all offers have been accepted but still curious to see if any alternates have had their status changed to 'offered' since the 1st.

Which office at Carleton do you call to check your ranking?

I was originally not offered at Carleton for a SSHRC, but as of April 8, I am now considered an alternate... has anyone ever heard of this happening?

I’ve never heard of it happening, but I guess they had more people reject their offers than expected. Hopefully you get off the alternate list :)

What is the latest people have seen movement from alternate lists to offers? I suppose one would expect a fair bit of movement in the first few days of April, and then near the 21 day mark?

That's strange... I was told that I'd likely get off the alternate list next week... I don't think this is the case considering that there are still alternates out there..

Are you on the alternate list as well at Carleton? If so, who told you that you’d make it off the list next week? As I was told they couldn’t share that information. I was also told that my change in status was due to clerical error.

I am on the alternate list. A lady at the FGPA told me that I should be patient and that it very likely that I'll make it off the list on Monday or Tuesday of this week... heres to hoping.

I accepted SSHRC from York a few weeks ago, but I haven't received an email or anything giving me further instructions on how to sign up for direct deposit/award holder's manual/etc... is this normal? Does anyone have any information/can anyone confirm that they also didn't receive anything else after accepting?

Didn't receive anything, just looked online to see what the next steps were and went to the Graduate awards officer to hand in my acceptance papers. My school deposits SSHRC through your student account so you have to ask for the money to be withdrawn from the account. Hope this helps!
